ROBERT CRAWLEY, THE EARL OF GRANTHAM (HUGH BONNEVILLE)

If we've learned one thing throughout Downton's six seasons, it's that the Crawley family's patriarch, Robert, does not like change. Unfortunately for him, there was been quite a lot of it: the loss of his heir, Matthew, for one, as well as a world war, rising taxes, changing politics, shifts in gender roles, shrinking household staffs and really, the start of the disappearance of life as he knows it – which led to lots of grumbles. But throughout it all, there's been one thing that's stayed constant: his love for his wife, Cora.
