Elton John, 57, lashed out angrily at the Taiwanese media Sept. 23, calling them "rude, vile pigs" after being greeted unexpectedly by flashbulbs in the restricted area of the Taipei airport. Media there can obtain special passes for airport access, and are known to ambush celebrities. In concert the next night, John, who says he has visited more than 60 countries, told fans: "They are a disgrace to your country."
