SWEETEST VICTORY

Red Sox Nation rejoiced when the "Curse of the Bambino" was broken with the team's World Series title win on Oct. 27, their first such victory since Babe Ruth was traded to the Yankees 86 years ago. Johnny Damon and the boys, who shut out the St. Louis Cardinals, also became the first team to win eight consecutive postseason games. Fans are pinching themselves: "I checked the obituaries to make sure I was still alive," one told reporters.
