Law garnered a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his role as dashing American expatriate Dickie Greenleaf in 1999's The Talented Mr. Ripley. Though costar Matt Damon (on the movie's Naples, Italy, set in 1998) didn't enjoy having to look pasty-white for his character while makeup artists gave Law a bronzed glow, he says of Law, "Even I had to admit he is a handsome devil."
