MOST HORRIFYING SCENE
Pulled from the fiery wreckage of a small jet by eldest son Charlie on Nov. 28, NBC Sports chief Dick Ebersol, 57, is recovering from a broken sternum and ribs while mourning the loss of his youngest, Teddy. The boys, 21 (bottom left), and 14 (with Ebersol and mom Susan Saint James), were taking off with their father in Telluride, Colo., when the plane slammed into the runway, throwing Charlie clear and landing atop Teddy, who died instantly along with two crew members. Investigators are considering weather and ice on the wings as possible causes.
