The $30,000 Date

When Biel hears that a Colorado teen was critically injured in an auto accident, she auctions off a date with herself to raise money for the girl's care. The winning man shells out $30,000 to eat lunch with her. In September, she's honored with the Huntington's Disease Society's Hope Award for her charity work with Make the Difference Network, an organization she cofounded to raise awareness and help people donate money to different nonprofits.

A Magical Performance

The Illusionist, a psychological period piece about a magician and his young muse, is released. The action-film veteran bemoans her "modern" look, which she thinks limits her roles. "All you have to do is pin-curl my hair and put me in a gown, and I'll look different, but there's not a lot of imagination in this town," she tells Time. The Illusionist brings Biel closer to her goal of being taken seriously as a dramatic actress.

Jessica & Justin

Biel visits Timberlake in the U.K., where he is touring. They hole up in Manchester's five-star Lowery Hotel and take in a soccer match. She joins him on tour again in June, and the couple is photographed holding hands and sightseeing in Amsterdam and Stockholm. They were first linked at a Golden Globe afterparty in January and went snowboarding together at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

"Why Can't I Have Everything?"

Biel, who has been dating Timberlake for over a year now, tells the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar that "being with somebody I care about, who's my soul mate, that sounds groovy." As for becoming a mother someday, the 26-year-old actress says she'll balance that "rite of passage" with her work: "Why can't I have both? Why can't I have everything?"
