While starring in separate plays on Broadway, Law and former fiancée Sienna Miller rekindle their romance, with the reunited pair taking their on-again relationship public with a Christmas vacation in Barbados. A year later, Law and Miller call it quits in February 2011. "It was an entirely an end-of-the relationship decision," a friend tells PEOPLE. "It had run its course."
Playing sidekick Dr. Watson, Law returns to the box office – opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Rachel McAdams – in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. "The flirting started the minute we met," the actor told CNN of working with Downey Jr. "It was based on mutual respect and admiration." The smash hit goes on to gross over $200 million, and spawns the 2011 sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Two years after giving their romance another shot, Law and Miller part ways for the second time. "It is mutual and amicable and they are still friends," a source tells PEOPLE, adding, "It had run its course."
Law confirms that he and ex-girlfriend Catherine Harding are expecting their first child in the spring; it'll be the fifth for the actor, who has three children with ex-wife Sadie Frost (sons Rafferty and Rudy and daughter Iris) and a daughter, Sophia, with model Samantha Burke. "Whilst they are no longer in a relationship, they are both wholeheartedly committed to raising their child," the actor's rep tells PEOPLE.
