Kristen's Rockin' Role
Stewart takes on the role of famed guitarist Joan Jett in the biopic, The Runaways, alongside New Moon costar Dakota Fanning as lead singer Cherie Currie. "She's an actress of weight, honesty, integrity and depth, and she's very serious," Jett says of the actress. "She takes it as art."
Eclipsing the Competition
The third Twilight movie, Eclipse, rakes in more than $150 million during its first week at the box office, making way for two more sequels based on the final book, Breaking Dawn. "It will be sad," Stewart tells EW of ending the series. "It’s been one of the most crazy, indulgent experiences as an actor, to be able to follow a character for this long."
'Breaking' the Bank
Breaking Dawn – Part 1 rakes in more than $139 million during its first week at the box office before going on to best the competition in its second week. In the fourth Twilight film, Bella marries Edward, has honeymoon sex and a half-vampire baby. "I had a million different things going on in my head," Stewart says of shooting the wedding scene. "What I kept telling myself was, Stop, stop, stop. Like, just do it. Actually, have this experience because you're just about to ruin it."
As the "fairest of them all," Stewart stars as the title character in Snow White and the Huntsman, a dark and modern twist on the classic children's story alongside Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. Stewart's portrayal of the sword-slinging, warrior princess attracts audiences far and wide and commands a No. 1 debut, making $56.3 million at the box office. The film helps the 22-year-old actress become the youngest woman to top Forbes's annual list of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses, besting established box-office draws Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.
Notes on a Scandal
After news breaks of Stewart's infidelity with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, the 22-year-old actress issues a public apology for hurting her boyfriend of three years, Robert Pattinson. "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she says in a statement. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
Weathering the Storm
Following her cheating scandal and a brief split, Stewart reunites with Pattinson. The reconciliation comes hot on the heels of the announcement that the pair, who play husband and wife in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, will publicly promote their film together. On November 16, the final Twilight film hits theaters and grosses $140 million over opening weekend, eventually becoming the franchise's most successful installment.
Seven months after winning back Pattinson, Stewart and her Twilight costar split once more, with the actor failing to show up at a birthday celebration she hosts for him. "Kristen has been in a terrible mood, and it was obvious that things were not great with Rob," a source tells PEOPLE, adding that it wouldn't come as a surprise if the pair were to get back together.
