Addressing reports claiming she had an affair with Northern Lights costar Eddie Cibrian, Rimes says, "This is a difficult time for me and my loved ones." In contrast, Cibrian, who is married with two children, flatly denies the affair.

Cibrian and Rimes both leave their spouses and are spotted playing golf together. "He's just somebody I don't know," Cibrian's wife tells PEOPLE of her estranged husband's public outing with Rimes. On Sept. 1, the singer announces that she's moving forward with her own divorce.
