Affair Allegations
Addressing reports claiming she had an affair with Northern Lights costar Eddie Cibrian, Rimes says, "This is a difficult time for me and my loved ones." In contrast, Cibrian, who is married with two children, flatly denies the affair.
Moving On
Cibrian and Rimes leave their spouses and are spotted playing golf together. "He's just somebody I don't know," the actor's wife, Brandi Glanville, tells PEOPLE. By the fall, Rimes and Cibrian both move forward with ending their marriages, with Rimes's ultimately being finalized in June 2010. "I take responsibility for everything I've done. I hate that people got hurt," she tells PEOPLE. "But I don't regret the outcome."

They're Engaged!
A month after wishing her ex-husband "a life full of happiness" with the news of his engagement, Rimes announces her own engagement to Cibrian. The 37-year-old actor proposed to his country sweetheart, 28, over the holidays with a five-carat oval-cut diamond ring that the spouses-to-be designed together.

LeAnn Marries Eddie
Rimes, 28, and Cibrian, 37, exchange vows in front of about 40 guests (including the actor's sons Mason, 7, and Jake, 4, from his first marriage) at a private home in California. The bride, who wore a Reem Acra gown, gushes to fans on Twitter, "So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you."
Girl Who Likes Boys
Rimes releases Lady & Gentleman, an album of cover songs originally sung by men. "These songs can stand the test of time," she tells Great American Country TV. "It's cool to bring [them] to a new generation." EW calls the compilation "predictably solid."

Taking a Time Out
The day after her 30th birthday, Rimes checks into a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to help cope with anxiety and stress. "This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be," she tells PEOPLE.
