After months of speculation, Carey, 41, confirms that she is pregnant. "It's been a long journey," the singer reveals on the Today show. "It's been tough because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy." An "emotional" Cannon echoes his wife's excitement, adding, "The greatest gift on earth is a child," before revealing that they're having twins.

Joining Idol
After weeks of speculation, Fox confirms that Carey has signed on as a judge for the 12th season of American Idol. "I am so excited to be joining Idol," the Grammy winner told reporters in a phone interview at the Television Critics Association summer tour. "This all kind of just happened real quickly, so I can't wait to get started in a couple months."
