Another happy milestone for the Royal family is set for next month when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend christening services set for their son, Prince George.

The ceremony will be held Oct. 23 at The Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace announced Friday.

Prince George, born in London in July and third in line to the British throne, will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Reverend Justin Welby, in a private service, with further details announced at a later date, the palace said.

The chapel site is where the body of Princess Diana, who would have been grandmother to Prince George, was laid at rest for a week following her death in a Paris car crash in 1997.

The new parents broke with tradition in choosing it over Buckingham Palace, where Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince William all were christened, the U.K.'s Telegraph" reported. The last member of the Royal family to be christened at St. James was Princess Beatrice in 1988, the paper said.

Odds-makers in Britain are already hot to handicap favorites to become godparents to the new prince. According to Ladbrokes, Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton, siblings to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are even-money favorites for the honors. They are followed by James Meade, the prince's closest chum, at 2-1, and Hannah Gillingham, the duchess's Marlborough college pal, at 3-1.

Others possibly in the running include pal Thomas van Straubenzee at 4-1 odds and sibling James Middleton at 5-1. Longshots are David Beckman at 50-1, with his wife Victoria Beckham as godmother lagging far back at 500-1.
