Downton goes downtown!

Hugh Bonneville, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Sophie McShera and Brendan Coyle, who all star in the Emmy award-winning PBS show Downton Abbey, visited New York this weekend.

On Sunday, the actors and actresses enjoyed their first ever live professional basketball game when the New York Knicks took on the Denver Nuggets at Madison Square Garden.

Fans of the series will do a double-take when they see Bonneville – who plays Robert Crawley, the 7th Earl of Grantham, head of the aristocratic household – posing with basketball player Amar'e Stoudemire and wearing modern-day clothing.

Dan Stevens (who plays Matthew Crawley on the series) is nowhere to be seen in the photos, but is currently starring in The Heiress with Jessica Chastain on Broadway.

Most recently, Downton Abbey's creator Julian Fellowes announced that he will create a period drama based on the Gilded Age of New York City for NBC.
