Adopt Me! Izzy Wants to Whip You Into Shape in 2013
by Amy JamiesonHome. Some pets never have one to call their own. We'd like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Meet Izzy, a young, energetic pup who is full of positive energy.
If you resolve to get fit in the New Year, this hound/blue heeler mix has a fitness plan for you – and it includes plenty of long walks!
"She's super, super active," says Kris King, development director at the Stafford Animal Shelter in Livingston, Mont. "If someone is looking to lose weight as a New Year's resolution, she's your personal trainer."
Sadly, the 1-year-old pup's zest for life has already gotten her sent back to the shelter after a recent adoption. "She was returned because she was too active," says King. "But with her background [and breed] she could be trained to do agility, hunting or other tasks."
Izzy, who was surrendered by her original owner about a month ago for not getting along with other dogs, just needs a place to channel all her energy.
"She's really busy," adds animal care technician Amanda Herauf. "She does enjoy being scratched and petted but she'd be a fantastic exercise buddy. She needs something to do."
If Izzy sounds like the mover and shaker you've been looking for, contact the shelter at 406-222-2111. To read more about her, click here.

Adopting a pet is an amazing experience – and a big decision! Before bringing a pet into your home it's important to consider your family circumstances and do your research on breeds.
