This longhaired cat, pictured with PDSA nurse Amanda Shearsby, is 85 percent overweight at 22.5-lbs. and has been placed on a strict diet, thanks to his standing as a finalist in the U.K.'s Pet Fit Club. "Maverick's extra weight is really affecting his well being," says his owner, Dee Doyle. "We really want Maverick to get back to a healthier weight, as we want the best for him and feel sorry for the poor wee man."
