Four years after his first hosting stint, Harris returns to emcee the Emmys. But his performance earns less than stellar reviews, in part due to the slow-moving and uneven nature of the show. "In his great favor, Harris comes across as a professional, likable young performer who takes his hosting job – or jobs – seriously and who respects the event he's there to represent," writes USA Today. "He didn't tarnish the winners' evening, but he did nothing to burnish it, either."
After nine seasons and a lot of suits, Harris ends his run as ladies-man-turned-married-man Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother. While the series finale itself was met with mixed reviews, Harris will always be loved for the role.
With HIMYM over, Harris makes his way to Broadway, starring in Hedwig and the Angry Inch and winning the best actor in a musical award at the 2014 Tonys. "A year ago I was hosting the Tonys," Harris says after his win. "This is crazy pants."
Meet the grooms! After 10 years and two kids together, Harris and Burtka say "I do" during an intimate ceremony in Italy. Children Gideon and Harper participate in the nuptials, and good friend Sir Elton John performs during the reception. Pam Fryman, the longtime director of Harris's How I Met Your Mother, officiates.
