American Idol: 14 Contestants Advance to Top 24

The American Idol judges repeatedly said how difficult it was, how this was their hardest day, how much it "sucked" to make the tough decisions.
But just imagine how the 42 remaining contestants felt as they waited to hear whether they'd be performing in the live shows next week as part of season 11's top 24.

Glee star Amber Riley turned heads when she stepped out in a blue Theia sequin gown – and showed off a slimmer silhouette! – at the NAACP Image Awards on Feb. 17.
The actress tells PEOPLE she decided to revamp her eating habits last July after chronic stomach pains drove her to the doctor.
"I decided I was going to make a change and eat healthier," says Riley, 26, who cut out the fast food and burgers that she says "were attacking my stomach."
After seven months of sticking to a new diet and exercise plan, she has hit a weight loss milestone: "I dropped two dress sizes!"

UVA Lacrosse Player Found Guilty of Second-Degree Murder

A Maryland jury found University of Virginia lacrosse player George Huguely V guilty of second-degree murder on Wednesday in the slaying of his ex-girlfriend Yeardley Love.
The case began in May 2010, after Love, a popular, all-American athlete, was found dead with obvious physical wounds.
Huguely, 24, admitted to having an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, but his lawyer denied her death was intentional. Huguely pled not guilty to six charges, including first-degree murder and felony murder in commission of a robbery.

Less than a week after Janet Jackson sparked speculation that she may be joining The X Factor as a judge, Britney Spears is now the subject of casting buzz.
"Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes," Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call Wednesday, but wouldn't discuss what he thinks Spears would bring to the show as a judge. "I've learned a big lesson: keep your mouth shut. Don't give it all away."

American Idol's Top 42 Face Elimination Before Live Shows

It's going to get ugly.
After cutting – and cutting again – in Las Vegas, American Idol is down to 42 contestants. And on Wednesday's episode, they're all hoping for one of the 24 spots in the upcoming live shows.
At this point in the competition, talented singers will be sent home heartbroken before they ever have a chance to take the Idol stage. So the question is ... for whom are you rooting?
We've seen some outstanding performances and heard some heartbreaking stories so far. Reed Grimm, Elise Testone, Haley Johnsen and Eben Franckewitz all sailed through the Vegas group round with a colorful version of "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes."
Jennifer Lopez told Lauren Gray, "You're one of the best female voices we've heard," when she auditioned in St. Louis with Adele's "One and Only."

On Saturday, the two ladies, along with Saldana's sister, were spotted going to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen in Los Angeles.
To complete the cozy girls' day out, the ladies then slipped in to see the chick flick The Vow starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum.

Race car driver Danica Patrick is about to embark on her biggest challenge to date – the Daytona 500, a 500 mile-long NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.
But Patrick, 29, seems fearless, telling Reuters, "I'm not scared of going 200 miles an hour," during Sunday's competition in Daytona Beach, Fla.
In fact, she believes she has a shot at following in the footsteps of Trevor Bayne, last year's rookie race winner.

Buddy's birthday celebration went a little differently than he probably expected but with this week's excuse of "I lack self control," we had to have another temptation on The Biggest Loser.
Clearly in this week's temptation, everyone had a plan – some contestants wanted to have the power and others to maintain self-control. In the end, Daphne ate more than 1,800 calories for the power but then her only switch was Conda and Jeremy.
