INSIDE STORY: Randy Quaid's Journey from Actor to Alleged Felon

Originally posted 11/08/2009 01:50PM

A towering Texan with an easy smile and some 68 movies under his belt, Randy Quaid has been known over the years as an affable character actor. On the Austin, Texas, set of his most recent film, Balls Out: The Gary Houseman Story, Quaid charmed his castmates.

"He's a really nice guy and insanely funny," says actor Allen Evangelista, who recalls how Quaid spent his downtime tossing tennis balls to his costars. "Everyone was just trying not to laugh when he would improvise. He's really down to earth … just a cool guy to work with."

That image is a far cry from what the actor – who even brought charm to the National Lampoon's Vacation series' repulsive character, Cousin Eddie – is known for these days. Quaid, 58, and his wife Evi, 45, were arrested in Marfa, Texas, on Sept. 24 for allegedly running out on a $10,000 hotel bill at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif., last June.

VIDEO: Taylor Swift's Hilarious SNL Musical Monologue

Originally posted 11/08/2009 11:15AM

Ah, revenge.

After much anticipation, Taylor Swift finally got her chance to get back at Kanye West for storming the stage and interrupting her acceptance speech at September's MTV Video Music Awards.

But Kanye wasn't the only one to feel the singer's (good-natured) sting. Dressed in a sparkly minidress and strumming a guitar, the star, 19, performed "Monologue Song (La La La)", featuring choice lines like, "You might think that I like writing songs about douche bags who cheat on me," and "Hey Joe! I'm doing really well!," apparently directed at former beau Joe Jonas.

Check out the entire video – including Swift's musical message to Taylor Lautner.

Don't Call Robert Pattinson a Loverboy

Originally posted 11/08/2009 10:55AM

Robert Pattinson may be a global heartthrob, but when it comes to his own romantic exploits, the Twilight star admits he can be a bit wimpy. "I can't think of a single romantic thing that I've ever done," Pattinson said while promoting the latest installment of the vampire series, New Moon, in Los Angeles Nov. 6.

"I would never serenade someone to be romantic – you have to have so much balls to do that. I put a flower in someone's locker when I was 15 years old, this girl called Maria. She thought that it was someone else and the other guy claimed it as well, which is great."

Despite his claims, Pattinson, 23, says he is a big believer in onscreen romance and balks at the common notion that it's for ladies only. "It's like saying guys can't appreciate romance," he says. "I've watched Titanic and I didn't think, 'Oh, this is a girl's film.'" Similarly, he says, "I felt like the storyline in New Moon is very heartbreaking and true. I didn't think I was doing something just for the sake of romance."

Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy: Out in Public

Originally posted 11/08/2009 10:00AM

Prince Harry and on-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy seemed very much on again when they attended a rugby match on Saturday.

Although they initially sat apart at the contest between England and Australia in London, the two gravitated toward each other before the match ended in victory for Australia. Photographs captured Davy, 24, leaning in to chat with the prince, 25, while both animatedly watched the action on the field.

When they split in January, some friends said they would always remain close, while others opined the parting would never last. The latter prediction appears to have come true.

Burglary Gang Found Doors Unlocked at Celeb Homes

Burglary Gang Found Doors Unlocked at Celeb Homes

Originally posted 11/08/2009 09:30AM

While some Hollywood stars are vigilant about guarding their private lives, others are apparently leaving doors wide open.

Suspects in the teen burglary gang – who allegedly made off with more than $3 million in jewelry, clothes and other luxury goods from the homes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Megan Fox and at least five other celebrities – gained entry to the homes mainly by finding doors unlocked, according to a search warrant released in the case.

The stars' security was lax in other ways: At Lohan's residence, the suspects broke in by prying open a window using a screwdriver, the documents say. The gang allegedly used basic internet research to figure out where celebrities lived, when they weren't in town, and then watched the homes for the opportune moment to break in.

Mo'Nique: Living Her Dream

Originally posted 11/07/2009 04:25PM

While Mo'Nique may be known for her sassy stand-up comedy and larger-than-life personality, at her home just outside of Atlanta she is simply "Mommy."

"When we're at home it ain't 'action and cut'," says the mom of 4-year-old twins, Jonathan and David, and a 19-year-old son, Shalon. "It's just like a playground in our house – nothing but fun and love."

But when she took on the role of an abusive mother in the film Precious: Based on the Novel Push By Sapphire, the actress set her current contentment aside and recalled a much harder time in her life. In this week's issue of PEOPLE, Mo'Nique opens up about the sexual abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of her eldest brother – and how she channeled that experience onscreen.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian Party in Vegas

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian Party in Vegas

Originally posted 11/07/2009 03:00PM

Problems? What problems?

Following a report earlier this week that Eddie Cibrian had been spending time with another woman – an allegation Cibrian has strenuously denied – the CSI: Miami hunk and his girlfriend, LeAnn Rimes, showed up at a nightclub Friday night after Rimes's concert in Las Vegas for a little fun, relaxation – and pole dancing.

Observers spotted the carefree-seeming couple in the VIP section of XS nightclub, where they talked, laughed and knocked back tequila drinks. Though they stayed at the venue inside the Encore Resort for only 20 minutes, there was time enough for a PDA.

"They were making out at the table and didn't really care who saw them," a source says. Rimes, 27, wearing an off-the-shoulder black dress, even danced on one of the club's stripper poles before leaving just after midnight, the source said.

Cibrian, 36, filed for divorce last August from his wife, Brandi Glanville, with whom he has two sons. Fans will recall that after murmurs of trouble in their marriage, the pair were caught by the cameras last spring as they stepped out for a night of togetherness – at a Las Vegas night club.

Tim McGraw: My Wife Has Kept Me Alive

He might be country music's resident tough guy, but Tim McGraw has a soft side for the gals in his life.

Despite a busy schedule promoting his new album, Southern Voice, and upcoming film, The Blind Side, costarring Sandra Bullock, McGraw, 42, says he is most happy at home in Nashville with wife Faith Hill, 42, and their three daughters, Gracie, 12, Maggie, 11, and Audrey, 7. "Our life is normal except for when we work," he says. "And we like it that way."

The singer recently sat down with PEOPLE to talk about his marriage, balancing music and movies – and becoming a man his daughters can look up to with pride.

Susan Boyle to Appear on Dancing with the Stars

Originally posted 11/07/2009 08:45AM

Susan Boyle is set to dazzle the Dancing with the Stars crowd – with her singing, not her dancing feet.

The Scottish singer, 48, will fly to Los Angeles for an appearance on the hit show early next week, her rep tells PEOPLE. "She's excited and happy," says her brother, John Boyle. "She loves America and loves the people. She appreciates their honesty."

Boyle, who made a previous U.S. appearance on America's Got Talent last September, will likely sing material from her upcoming CD, I Dreamed A Dream, due out Nov. 24.

And she is beginning – on a modest scale – to enjoy the fruits of her recent labors: Boyle bought a three-piece sofa and recliner set in burgundy leather for her small home in Blackburn, Scotland, and a new refrigerator. "Moneywise, she's very frugal," says her brother.

He adds, "She wasn't happy staying in London full-time. She can walk around in Blackburn. Just say, 'Hi' and 'How's it going?'to the locals."
