Police Chief Convicted in Sarah Jessica Parker Surrogate Theft

An Ohio police chief accused of stealing items from the surrogate mom who carried Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's twin daughters was found guilty Monday on three of six charges.

Martin's Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter, 40, along with another police chief, was accused of meeting with freelance photographers last May and offering items such as a poem, photos, legal documents about the surrogacy agreement, and pictures of ultrasounds. A photographer alerted the surrogacy agency, which reported the thefts to police.

After 12 hours of deliberation, a jury found Carpenter guilty of receiving stolen property, theft in office and tampering with evidence. He was found not guilty on two counts of burglary and one count of unauthorized use of property or services.

Carpenter, who was silent and held his head in his hands as the decisions were read, faces up to 10 years in prison at his sentencing Dec. 10. Until then, he must wear a home confinement device at his mother's home and will be tracked with a GPS device.

Melissa Etheridge Addresses Mammogram Controversy

Breast cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge expressed her concerns over the new health guidelines, which say most women don't need mammograms until they are 50 instead of 40.

"We have gotten ourselves into a big, deep hole in the way that we look at healthcare," Etheridge, 48, told PEOPLE at the American Music Awards on Sunday. "We are in a system where they get money when we're sick. That's never going to work for us."

She adds: "So when someone says, 'You don't need a mammogram until you're 50,' you take charge of that. I don't trust any of that."

Courteney Cox Returning to Cougar Town Set

Cougar Town is getting back its Realtor.

The ABC show, which stopped filming briefly last week so star Courteney Cox could attend to a "family matter," resumes production Nov. 30 following an already-planned weeklong break for Thanksgiving, the network says.

The nature of the family issue wasn't disclosed. But Cox's reps confirm to PEOPLE the actress and her family are fine and that she'll be returning to work following the Thanksgiving hiatus.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have remained coy about their relationship, but the New Moon costars looked awfully close over the weekend in New York City – even though they're done promoting their hit movie.

On Thursday, while their castmates were partying after their Big Apple premiere at the Box on New York's Lower East Side, Pattinson and Stewart took a tour of the city's hotspots together.

The duo started their night at the ultra exclusive Soho House, where they "had a good time," a source tells PEOPLE. Later, they skipped over to Avenue, where they were spotted making out while their bodyguards tried to block prying eyes. The two also hung out with Joan Jett, who joined them at their table.
