Appeals Court Rejects Big Inheritance for Anna Nicole Smith's Estate

Originally posted 03/19/2010 06:50PM

A federal appellate court panel ruled Friday that the estate of Anna Nicole Smith is not entitled to any of the millions of dollars left by Smith's late oil magnate husband, J. Howard Marshall, when he died.

The decision comes as another blow to the main beneficiary of Smith's estate: her 3 1/2-year-old daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead.

"It's been a very sort of sad story – so many people involved in this case have died," says Kent Richland, the appellate lawyer for the model's estate. Still, he vows that "this is not the final step" in the legal battle.

Joan Jett, Cherie Currie Offer Lady Gaga Advice on Longevity

Joan Jett, Cherie Currie Offer Lady Gaga Advice on Longevity

Originally posted 03/19/2010 02:25PM

If there's anyone who could give sage advice to Lady Gaga, whose over-the-top outfits and performances seem to be wearing her down, it's veteran rockers Joan Jett and Steven Van Zandt.

And though times may have changed, they have some tips for the pop star after her recent near collapse onstage in New Zealand.

"I'll tell you, The Runaways, when we started, we didn't have this sort of craziness around us. Really the only time when there was insanity, as far as the press goes, was Japan ... it wasn't a 24-hour media world at that point," Jett told PEOPLE at the Tommy Hilfiger-sponsored New York premiere of The Runaways, which portrays the ascent of Jett and Cherie Currie to rock icons. "I think it's very difficult if you had to be dealing with this all the time. It's tough to incubate and do the work you need to do with people in your face."

Currie's concern for Lady Gaga, who she believes is "very good," is less about media and more about managing expectations and staying sober.

Source: Women Throw Themselves at Jesse James

Source: Women Throw Themselves at Jesse James

Originally posted 03/19/2010 02:15PM

Jesse James is married to America's Sweetheart, but in his life as the high-profile owner of the West Coast Choppers empire he is often surrounded by female admirers, according to some who know the motorcycle mogul.

Sandra Bullock's husband is "heavily targeted and pursued" by women, a source tells PEOPLE. "Those girls throw themselves at him."

The source adds that temptations were around before tattoo model Michelle McGee met James and came forward with allegations of a steamy affair with James. On Thursday James called the "vast majority" of allegations "untrue and unfounded," but apologized to his wife and children for "this whole situation."

According to another source, James had been hanging around "people that [Sandra] may not have necessarily approved of – women."

Still, that source tells PEOPLE that the The Blind Side Oscar winner always saw the best in her husband. "She trusted him," says the source.
