Sherri Shepherd remembers the exact moment she decided to turn her health around.
"It was about two years ago, before I got married," the actress and View co-host says. "I was 197 pounds, sitting on my couch, eating pizza and watching infomercials. I am an infomercial whore – I'll watch any of them! But anyway, this infomercial for Zumba showed up and I couldn't get to my credit card fast enough! I knew it was time."
One of her reasons to get in shape: to boost her energy levels.

Jenny McCarthy fits right in.
PEOPLE has the first photos of The View's newly-retooled cast of the daytime talk show for what appears to be a promising (and silly!) season ahead.
For the full cast photo, Whoopi Goldberg, 57, decides to wear her serious face, while Sherri Shepherd, 46, and Barbara Walters, 86, sport more traditional grins. The show's newest addition starts out serene, but quickly finds her goofy side in the following shots, dancing with Shepherd and posing alongside Barbara Walters in a form-fitting red dress and platform Mary Janes.

One bubbly, perky – and outspoken – blonde is about to be replaced by another.
Less than a week after the departure of Elisabeth Hasselbeck from the syndicated daytime talkfest The View comes confirmation that Jenny McCarthy will succeed her when the show returns for its 17th season Sept. 9.
"YUP, I'M DOING 'THE VIEW'!" McCarthy trumpeted on her blog Monday. "When word got out that Joy [Behar] was leaving 'The View,' I knew that the timing of my desire and her departure might be serendipitous for me."
"Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor," the show's original host and co-executive producer Barbara Walters said in a statement released by ABC Monday morning.

After spending a decade on The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck marked her final appearance on the ABC daytime talk show with an emotional goodbye.
On Wednesday, Hasselbeck, 36, walked arm-in-arm with Barbara Walters before taking a seat at the table for what would be her last time.
"The past 10 years have been nothing short of extraordinary," Hasselbeck said after thanking the show’s producer Bill Geddie and co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar – who announced earlier this year that she'll be exiting the show – Sherri Shepherd and Walters.
"I did some math last night, and I think I’ve have had over 3,000 days working by your side," she told Walters. "I can’t ask for a better leader or mentor. You are the best that there is."

Sherri Shepherd has bonded so quickly with the new dog she adopted over the weekend that she's got a very important question to put before her boss.
"I'm going to ask Barbara [Walters] if I can bring her to work," The View cohost tells PEOPLE. "I'm going to get her when she's in a really good mood – after she interviews the President."
The 3-year-old black Lab, which Shepherd adopted from the Baker Bridge Rescue of Charleston, Tenn., arrived on Saturday and has been by the 30 Rock star's side ever since.

Melissa Rycroft and Tye Strickland laughed it up during a date night at the El Portal Theatre in L.A., where they attended Clorox's Last Comic Sitting event hosted by Sherri Shepherd.
According to an onlooker, the couple was "very cuddly" and held hands at the show when Tye didn't have his arm around Melissa. "They are just so in love and just so cute," says the onlooker.
The two had a sip of wine before the show began, but ultimately raced to their seats, where they laughed at the performances before leaving the grab sushi and head home to daughter Ava.

The show may very well go on for Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his Dancing with the Stars partner Melissa Gilbert, who suffered a head injury following Monday night's paso doble.
The actress, 47, alarmed viewers when she was absent from Tuesday night's elimination episode, but Chmerkovskiy, 32, says she's just taking it easy at home.
"She's in pain," he told PEOPLE backstage after the show. "She's got a big headache. The doctors said she has a minor concussion, and I know that's really unpleasant."

The hottest topic on Wednesday's live episode of The View was its co-host Sherri Shepherd's shocking elimination on Tuesday night's Dancing with the Stars.
Wiping away tears that started flowing long into the standing ovation from the studio audience and their shouts of "Sherri! Sherri!," Shepherd listened as View moderator Whoopi Goldberg said, "You know, we are not happy ... she was robbed."
Shepherd explained that the waterworks were "not a temper tantrum, [but] really tears of joy. I wanted to do this for so long, and to be taken off the ride so soon, it really was devastating."

Gladys Knight may be one of the top soul singers of all time, but her tango on Rock Week at Dancing with the Stars only received 20 points from the judges, landing her at the bottom of the pack Monday night.
Did her performance with partner Tristan MacManus send them both packing? Or did Gavin DeGraw and partner Karina Smirnoff – who improved this week, but have been regulars in the bottom two so far this season – get the boot? Or did a favorite who happened to have an off night end up going home instead?
