Since leaving rehab July 30, Lindsay Lohan has taped appearances on Oprah's Next Chapter and Chelsea Lately, and seems to be doing well – reportedly with help from a sober coach.
A source who knows Lohan says that she even canceled her planned Europe trip on Winfrey's request, but whether a coach is casually accompanying the Mean Girls actress or never lets her out of his sight, and whether this is going to make a difference in the long run, remains to be seen.
Hollywood sober coaches say that although the rules are different each time, as negotiated by the coach and the patient, it's clear that Lohan, 27, greatly needs this service to help her battle temptations to relapse.

Lindsay Lohan wasn't at the Los Angeles premiere of her racy film The Canyons on Tuesday night, but cast members had plenty to say about the star and her recovery.
"She's decided not to be here because she's worried coming out of rehab [and] hanging out in L.A. for the weekend," the film's director Paul Schrader told the audience in a speech before the movie was shown.
Explaining Lohan's history with alcohol, Schrader told reporters, "She has been on this Adderall for about five years. It makes her speedy so she has to cut that with vodka. Now you're dealing with a speedball."

Listening to Oprah Winfrey could be a step in the right direction for Lindsay Lohan.
Speaking on Tuesday's Good Morning America, Winfrey discussed her interview with Lohan, which will air Aug. 18 on OWN, saying that she advised Lohan to skip her trip to Europe.
"I just came from Europe, and Europe is the place to go when you want to feel really good and relax," Winfrey, 59, said. "It's hard to go to Capri and not have a Bellini."

It's true: Lindsay Lohan ain't what she used to be. But then, suggests The Canyons, neither is the movie business.
With a lead actress now more famous for her rehab stints than her film roles, a lead actor (James Deen) who made his bones in pornography, and a stylish opening montage of decaying movie houses, The Canyons seems ready to make a damning meta-statement about the moral rot in Hollywood.
But the film, from writer Bret Easton Ellis and director Paul Schrader, succeeds only in becoming the object of its own condemnation. It's just another limp, soft-core porn thriller lacking the courage of its convictions.

Lindsay Lohan is back in the news! And so far this time her reappearance is drawing good reviews.
Just days after completing a three-month rehab stint at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., Lohan – in the ultimate, ironic celebrity swap – recorded a guest-hosting stint for Chelsea Lately Thursday, joking in the opening monologue that she had "been on a 90-day court ordered vacation."

Is she finally serious about sobriety?
A source close to Lindsay Lohan's says yes, that the actress, who has relapsed many times before, is getting a framework in place to keep her from falling into substance abuse again upon her latest release from rehab.
That means truly committing to therapy and AA, cutting enablers out of her life and leaning on good influences, including Oprah Winfrey, for support.
"She's the best I've ever seen her, honestly," the source tells PEOPLE. "All she wants to do is work."

Lindsay Lohan just wrapped up a 90-day stay in court-ordered rehab but that doesn't mean her work is done.
The judge who sent her into treatment earlier this year after she violated probation by lying to police ordered the 27-year-old to attend therapy sessions three times a week for the next 16 months to help avoid relapsing.
He made the decision Wednesday – just hours after the starlet left rehab at Cliffside Malibu – on the recommendation of the center.

And she's out.
Three months after entering rehab as part of a plea agreement in a criminal case, Lindsay Lohan left a Malibu treatment center Tuesday.
TMZ posted a photo of the actress leaving Cliffside Malibu.
Lohan, 27, checked into the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on May 2, a stay ordered by a court after she allegedly lied to police at the scene of a car accident last June, violating her earlier probation.
