Ashley Dupré is tired of people judging her. The escort, whose $4,300 dalliance with former New York governor Eliot Spitzer cost him his job in March 2008, is speaking out about the scandal – and she says she's just like any single woman dating in New York.

"I know many women who target guys with money and use them to get these things," she wrote in a blog entry on the Global Grind Web site. "They toy with them, flirt, go on dates, have sex and then drop hints about that new dress ... and the guys deliver it."

In the blog entry (first reported in the New York Post), Dupré, 24, also blasts women in "dishonest relationships" based on security rather than love.

Eliot Spitzer Calls His Behavior 'Egregious'

Originally posted 04/06/2009 08:35AM

Dealing with what he termed the 800-lb. gorilla in the room, Matt Lauer grilled former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer on Monday's Today show in an interview that ostensibly was conducted to reveal Spitzer's expertise on Wall Street and its current woes.

But first, the gorilla: After only 14 months in office, Spitzer resigned his position in March 2008 after it was revealed he was a regular client of a prostitution ring known as the Emperor's Club V.I.P.

In his first interview since the scandal, Spitzer, 49, downplayed his involvement with the service, saying he used it "not frequently … not long." The disgraced politician, saying there were "no excuses possible" for his behavior – which he repeatedly called "egregious" – also said that he is still frequently asked about important issues.

She was the tabloid sensation at the center of the sex scandal that brought down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer. But in her very first interview, Ashley Alexandra Dupré tells PEOPLE, "I am a normal girl."

"Everyone knows me as 'that girl,' but I'm not just 'that girl,' " the 23-year-old former escort says in the new issue of PEOPLE, on sale Friday. "I have a lot of depth, a lot of layers."

Enduring a media spotlight that included seeing her MySpace photos splashed on front pages "has been really hard," the New Jersey native explains. "But I'm a survivor."

Disgraced former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer will face no federal charges against him, Michael J. Garcia, the U.S. attorney in Manhattan, announced Thursday afternoon, The New York Times reports.

After only 14 months in office, Spitzer resigned his position in March after it was revealed he was a regular client of a prostitution ring known as the Emperor's Club V.I.P.

In their probe, federal prosecutors looked into whether the politician – who built his professional reputation as a dogged State Attorney General nicknamed "The Enforcer" – had possibly concealed or used laundered funds, or used campaign contributions for his prostitutes.

Ashley Alexandra Dupré, the New Jersey woman at the center of the New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer call-girl scandal, filed suit Monday against Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and his film company – claiming he exploited her name and image for profit.

The lawsuit seeks more than $10 million in damages. In legal documents, Dupré alleges that Girls Gone Wild representatives approached her while she was vacationing in Florida in 2003, offered her alcohol and cajoled her into exposing her breasts for their cameras when she was just 17 (and not of proper legal age to sign a release form allowing her to be filmed).

Before she allegedly got a call from New York's governor, Ashley Dupré had gone wild.

In the video vaults of Girls Gone Wild is footage of an 18-year-old Dupré cavorting naked on the GGW bus and doing scenes with another woman in 2003, the video company announced Tuesday.

GGW found the footage – seven full tapes worth – after the company's CEO Joe Francis offered $1 million to Dupré to appear in one of his videos – an offer he promptly withdrew.

As she remains out of the public eye following her husband Eliot Spitzer's sex scandal, friends believe that wife Silda Spitzer is a woman who takes the phrase "for better or worse" seriously.

"Maybe she wanted to kick the guy out of the house but she's in the public eye and a person who takes responsibility," David Patrick Columbia, a friend of Silda's and editor of NewYorkSocialDiary.com tells PEOPLE. "I think she's a woman who was there because that's the vow: 'For better or for worse.' She's a woman who lives those words."

Ashley Alexandra Dupre's Family Heartbreak

Originally posted 03/16/2008 04:30PM

Before she was known as "Kristen", the woman at the center of the prostitution scandal that forced New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's resignation, 22-year-old Ashley Alexandra Dupré was simply Ashley Youmans, a small town girl from the New Jersey shore who yearned for her father and struggled with her family's split.

After her parents, William Youmans and Carolyn Capalbo, broke up, Ashley "used to cry about that and say how much she missed him," childhood friend Erica Kane tells PEOPLE. Adding to the heartache was her older brother Kyle, 26, who was incarcerated after a 2000 drug arrest, according to the Asbury Park Press. (More recently, on Monday, Kyle pleaded guilty to heroin charges and is expected to be sentenced to probation on April 14, according the newspaper.)

But after her mother married oral surgeon Michael DiPietro, Ashley, who was in elementary school at the time, would say even more so "how much she missed her dad. She always used to talk about that," says Kane.
