It's a Hollywood-Washington mash-up that always teeters on becoming a smash-up.
Conan O'Brien brought the late-night comedic chops as host of the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night in Washington D.C.
But it was President Obama who got in the best zingers – much to the delight of the famous faces in the crowd.
"I just witnessed our President deliver the funniest speech I have ever heard," Tweeted Katy Perry.

President Obama: Boston Marathon Bombings a 'Heinous & Cowardly' Terrorist Act
Originally posted 04/16/2013 01:00PM
On Tuesday, President Barack Obama addressed the nation regarding the FBI investigation into Monday's Boston Marathon bombings.
"This was a heinous and cowardly act and given what we now know about what took place, the FBI is investigating it as an act of terrorism," Obama said at Tuesday's press conference. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror."
The President also said investigators "don't have a sense of motivation yet" as they begin to evaluate the attack in which three people were killed, including Martin Richard, an 8-year-old boy, and more than 170 were wounded.

Roger Ebert Praised by Filmmakers – and The President
Originally posted 04/05/2013 11:10AM
He sometimes may have roundly criticized them, but actors and filmmakers alike gave high thumbs up to the late Roger Ebert, who died Thursday after a lengthy fight with cancer.
Fellow Chicagoan President Barack Obama spoke for many when he said in a statement, "For a generation of Americans – and especially Chicagoans – Roger was the movies. When he didn't like a film, he was honest; when he did, he was effusive – capturing the unique power of the movie to take us somewhere magical."
Added the Chief Executive: "Even amidst his own battles with cancer, Roger was as productive as he was resilient – continuing to share his passion and perspective with the world. The movies won't be the same without Roger."

The cutest, fluffiest, most precious mascot of the holiday is somebody – make that somebunny – else this year.
The ears most definitely fit Bo Obama. Literally.

Make Chef Wanted Host Anne Burrell's Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe Pesto & Sausage
Originally posted 03/31/2013 12:00PM
On her show Chef Wanted, Anne Burrell helps test up-and-coming chefs for top spots at premiere restaurants. But this week she's getting a culinary dream job of her own.
On Monday, the Food Network star will be cooking for attendees at the White House's Easter Egg Roll.
"I am so super excited," Burrell tells PEOPLE. "The White House is such a beautiful place, and I can't wait to visit and see the President and the First Lady and, of course, to do something fun for the kids."
On Burrell's menu: orecchiette with broccoli rabe pesto and sausage (which comes from her cookbook Cook Like a Rock Star) because, as she says, "A pasta dish is a great way to get kids to eat veggies."

President Obama and His Girls Play in the Snow (Wait, What Snow?)
Originally posted 03/07/2013 11:05AM
Washington, D.C., was spared the big winter storm it had been expecting Wednesday, but President Obama and his daughters were still seen frolicking in the snow – at least in this adorable photo he posted online.
"What a real snow day looks like," the Obama team wrote in posting the image to Facebook and Twitter.
That seemed to be a wry joke, perhaps making fun of the hype (and government closings) over the major winter storm that never materialized in D.C.

Robin Roberts Welcomed Back to GMA by the Obamas
Originally posted 02/20/2013 07:50AM
A standing ovation from her crew greeted Robin Roberts at the door of the ABC Times Square studio of Good Morning America, even before the sun rose Wednesday – exactly five months after the anchor had a bone marrow transplant to treat myelodysplastic syndrome, or MDS, a rare blood disorder.
Outside, in the street, a crowd of fans had already gathered with placards, banners and even an ebullient fellow from Dallas waving what he called the world's largest wristband, hailing his heroine. It read, "Welcome Back Robin."
Once the show hit the air, Roberts, with her colleagues surrounding her, looked into the camera, broke into a great big smile, and announced: "Hi, it's Robin. I've been waiting 174 days to do this: Good Morning America!"

Barbara Walters Has Chicken Pox
Originally posted 01/28/2013 12:40PM
While much of Hollywood is suffering from the flu, Barbara Walters has come down with the chicken pox.
The View host was hospitalized after injuring her head in a fall during inauguration festivities. She was transferred to a New York hospital late last week and remains there with her new infection.
"You all know that she fell and cut her head 10 days ago, and then was running a temperature, but it turns out it is all the result of a delayed childhood," her co-host Whoopi Goldberg explained on the air Monday.

PEOPLE's Music Critic: Why We're Upset About Beyoncé's Lip-Synching Drama
Originally posted 01/22/2013 08:40PM
Did she lip-synch or didn't she?
That's the question surrounding Beyoncé after reports surfaced that she didn't sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" live at yesterday's presidential inauguration.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Marine Band, which backed the pop diva at the ceremony, said Tuesday that Mrs. Jay-Z decided to use a previously recorded vocal track before delivering the national anthem, but later on another spokesperson, this one for the Pentagon, said there was no way of knowing whether the 16-time Grammy winner was guilty of lip-synching or not.
