Nicole Richie: I Need to Stay in Bed and Recover

Although back from the hospital, Nicole Richie says she's still laid up at home after a bout with pneumonia.
"Right now it's important for me to stay in bed and recover," Richie, 28, wrote on her blog Tuesday. "Reading all of your messages on Twitter and my website has really brightened my spirits and I am so grateful for the support. I look forward to seeing you all very soon and wish you a happy Thanksgiving."
She apologized for missing promotional appearances, saying she was disappointed at not being able to see her business partners and fans, but says, "I’d like to thank you all for the kind words and well wishes over the past few weeks."

Nicole Richie Back Home with 'No Problems'

Nicole Richie has checked out of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after battling pneumonia and is at home resting, says her boyfriend Joel Madden.
"So I stepped off the plane after a month out of the country, and basically went straight to the hospital for the week," Madden wrote on his band's Web site on Friday. "But don't worry all is well and we are home with no problems."
Richie, 28, had been sick for the last week and a half. "Ok cold, it's been 6 days. Lets part ways graciously & keep it moving," she Tweeted on Sunday.
Last week the star's rep shot down Internet rumors that she was suffering from the swine flu.

Nicole Richie Hospitalized for Pneumonia

After complaining of feeling badly for days, Nicole Richie was hospitalized for pneumonia at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and was "doing well," her rep said Wednesday.
On Sunday, Richie, 28, said on her Twitter page that she had been battling illness, writing, "ok cold, it's been 6 days. Lets part ways graciously & keep it moving."
And the following day, at a court hearing to get restraining orders against two paparazzi, Richie appeared subdued and her lawyer indicated to the judge that she wasn't feeling well.

Maybe it was nerves. Or maybe it just wasn't the time to issue a clarification.
But in court Monday, Nicole Richie's lawyer Mark Geragos referred to Joel Madden as her husband and Richie didn't correct him. The pair have been together for years and have two children.
The marital reference came up during her 15 minutes of testimony at a hearing in which a judge issued a restraining order against two aggressive paparazzi.

Nicole Richie Gets Restraining Orders Against Two Paparazzi

Two photographers have been temporarily ordered to stay 100 yards away from Nicole Richie, a Los Angeles judge ruled Friday. The order also protects her two children, Harlow, 21 months, and Sparrow, 6 weeks.
In her filing, Richie states that photographers Eduardo Arrivebene and Ivon Miguel daily "stalk" Richie and her family, and that they "sit outside my house, waiting for me to leave." She alleges that they "scream at me in an attempt to get my reaction, scare me, follow me, chase me in [their] vehicle," causing her "severe emotional distress."
Richie, 28, was rear-ended by the pair while driving in Beverly Hills earlier this month. She sought medical help following the incident. In her filing, she blames the photographers for causing the collision.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Build a Playground

They may have their hands full with newborn Sparrow and 21-month old Harlow, but Nicole Richie and Joel Madden took time away from home on Thursday to take care of some less privileged kids: After 13 months of fundraising, the couple broke ground on a new playground at a homeless shelter in downtown Los Angeles.
"It's so rewarding to see the smile on these kids faces," Richie, 28, tells PEOPLE.
Several of the pint-sized inhabitants of Beyond Shelter's Broadway Village 2, a shelter in an L.A. neighborhood with the highest concentration of crime and poverty, turned out to celebrate the happy news that they would soon have a place to play.

Six weeks after welcoming their first son, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden – along with their 21-month-old daughter Harlow – are showing off the latest addition to their family, Sparrow James Midnight Madden.
"I couldn't be happier," Richie tells PEOPLE. "The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I'm right where I belong."
In an interview at their home in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, Richie, 28, and Madden, 30, her boyfriend and front man of the band Good Charlotte, say they are deprived of sleep, but grateful their daughter Harlow is now fawning over a baby brother.

Nicole Richie Gets Visit from Mom After Car Accident

Nicole Richie is back at home after a fender bender with a paparazzo landed her in the hospital Monday.
Richie spent several hours at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Monday following the accident, according to multiple sources. On Tuesday, she was visited by her mother, Brenda Richie, at the home she shares with Joel Madden and their two kids, Harlow, 22 months and 1-month-old Sparrow.
Eduardo Arrivebene, who rear-ended Richie's vehicle while she was driving with a passenger Monday, was arrested for driving without a license. He was later freed on $1,225 bail.
Following the incident, Lt. Tony Lee of the Beverly Hills Police told PEOPLE that Richie "complained of pain" but declined to be taken to the hospital by paramedics, opting instead to take herself there.
A rep for Richie has declined to comment about her condition.
Following the accident, Richie reportedly hired celebrity attorney Mark Geragos, TMZ.com reports.

Nicole Richie Seeks Medical Help After Car Accident

Nicole Richie was rear-ended by paparazzi in Beverly Hills on Monday and was expected to seek medical attention, police tell PEOPLE.
"Ms. Richie was driving with a passenger around 2 p.m. when she was struck by two photographers driving in one vehicle behind her," said Lt. Tony Lee of the Beverly Hills Police. "She complained of pain ... Her car sustained moderate damage. No paramedics were called to the scene."
He added: "She told officers she was going to seek her own medical treatment, so it's unknown if she's headed to a hospital or not."

• New mom Nicole Richie took a night away from her kids for some grown-up fun with her girlfriends on the patio at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont, where they noshed on appetizers and indulged in girl talk. Still, fellow diners had nothing but good wishes for the new mom as they congratulated her on her second baby, son Sparrow.
