William, Kate and Harry Visit the Home of Harry Potter
Originally posted 04/26/2013 09:35AM
Britain's young Royal Muggles had a magical day out with a visit to the studio where the Harry Potter movies were filmed.
Prince William, Kate and Prince Harry toured Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden near London, home to the newly launched Making of "Harry Potter" studio tour.
There, the royals, accompanied by 500 children and adults from charities they support, got a wand lesson, visited the Hogwarts Great Hall and saw props, costumes and models from the Potter series as well as some other movies.
"Where's my brother, why isn't he doing this?" William, brandishing a wooden wand, said during the lesson.
As Kate (who also had a wand, and wore a cream-colored dress with black spots from TopShop) and William giggled, they were given some "spell techniques' by tour guide Scott Heron, then asked to face a group of children called "Dumbledore's Army" – to whom William bellowed, "Expelliarmos!"

Kate's Baby Blue Maternity Dress – How to Get the Look
Originally posted 04/25/2013 09:55AM
It may have been baby blue, but royal watchers shouldn't take it as a clue! Still mum on the sex of her offspring and wearing the first maternity dress of her pregnancy, the Duchess of Cambridge was radiant in an Emilia Wickstead cocktail gown for her Art Room gala Wednesday.
Described as a pale blue silk blend, full skirted summer dress, the custom creation was based on a dress in the current spring/summer collection from the New Zealand-born and London-based designer.
"It was made specially for the duchess," says a spokeswoman. "We've had a style in store that's very, very similar. So it was very slightly bespoke for her."

Kate Visits Primary School in Manchester, Receives Gift for Dog, Lupo
Originally posted 04/23/2013 10:15AM
The Duchess of Cambridge has been receiving countless gifts ahead of her baby's arrival in July, but on Tuesday she was given something for the other little darling in her life – her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Lupo.
As Kate was heralded by hundreds of excited children celebrating St. George's Day, she was presented with a basket of goodies for the royal pup.
Among those greeting her at Manchester's Willows Primary School on Tuesday was student Chloe Pomret, 10, who joined the school's "executive dog," a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry, to present the expectant mother with roses and gifts for Lupo.
"Henry, you have gone to so much trouble," Kate, 31, said with a laugh, upon greeting the school's dog.

Prince Harry: It Was 'Never an Option' to Miss London Marathon
Originally posted 04/21/2013 02:15PM
Less than a week after twin explosions at the Boston Marathon left three dead and more than 180 wounded, Prince Harry made his way to Sunday's London Marathon to support the 36,000 runners heading toward the finish line.
Missing the annual event "was never an option as far as I was concerned," he told BBC News. "Everyone that was planning on coming is still here. No one's changed any plans."
Still, the memory of tragedy lingered in a hush as competitors observed a 30-second moment of silence in honor of those who didn't finish their race, reports CNN.
"The way Boston has dealt with it has been absolutely remarkable," added the prince.

Kate Chooses Three New Charity Missions
Originally posted 04/18/2013 07:00PM
As if her plate wasn't already full, the Duchess of Cambridge is about to add even more.
Kate, 31, is adopting three new causes, and that will mean more public outings for the pregnant princess in the coming months as we count down to her baby's highly-anticipated July arrival.
The new charities are in addition to the five she picked last year and reflect her "personal interests in supporting children and young people to build their skills, confidence and aspirations," her office says in a statement.
The new patronages are Place2Be, SportsAid and The Natural History Museum. More about them:

Kate Goes Shopping for Antiques – But Only Looks
Originally posted 04/15/2013 08:20AM
Add another title to the Duchess of Cambridge: window shopper.
On Saturday, Kate, 31, browsed the furniture and knick-knacks of the Mews Antique Emporium in Holt, Norfolk, where the other shoppers left her alone as she paced room after room of collectibles.
"She came in with a friend of hers but didn't buy anything," a source at the store tells PEOPLE.
Scouting for furnishings makes perfect sense, as Kate has a new London home to fill: Apartment 1a at Kensington Palace, where she and husband William will move come early fall.

Kate Middleton might have let slip last month that she's having a baby girl, but there's one thing she and Prince William definitely have not revealed: the name of the highly anticipated heir.
Oddsmakers in Britain, however, believe they know the answer to this burning royal question – and expect the world to herald Princess Alexandra in July.

Kate and Her Devoted Prince Are Bonding Over Baby
Originally posted 04/13/2013 12:15PM
From opposite ends of the Ping-Pong table, the famously competitive parents of Britain's future monarch grinned at each other, and then let fly.
"Ahem, I think that was 6-2," William said, declaring victory over Kate during their visit to a Glasgow sports center April 4. But, after his official duties were done, he turned to Lord Lieutenant Sadie Docherty, the couple's host for the day, and chivalrously fessed up: "The only reason I won today was because Catherine was pregnant," the prince told Docherty, who recounted the conversation to PEOPLE.

Prince William may not let his six-months-pregnant wife, Kate, win at ping-pong – "Ahem, I think that was 6-2," he teased after beating her in an impromptu match at a Scotland youth center April 4 – but he is getting ready to make bigger concessions to his family-in-the-making.
A source close to William tells PEOPLE the prince will soon announce he's leaving the RAF Valley – a search-and-rescue helicopter unit based in Anglesey, Wales.
