Donnie Wahlberg has the right stuff for Jenny McCarthy.
"If every relationship leads you to the next person and it leads you to what you want and what you don't want, I feel like I deserve great and he's great," The View cohost said Saturday while hosting a party at 1 OAK in Las Vegas.
The couple, who has been dating since early July, are still in the honeymoon phase.
"It's new," she said. "I took a year off [from dating] but I said if I meet someone who makes me stop that year off, it's someone who I need to pay attention to."

The first week on a new job can be hard on anyone, but what if it took place live on national TV? That didn't seem to be an issue for Jenny McCarthy, who just completed her first week as a new co-host of The View.
"I feel grateful, I feel excited, I feel like I'm getting into the groove," McCarthy, 40, told PEOPLE at the launch party for McDonald's new Mighty Wings in New York on Sunday.
Although McCarthy's first guest – her new boyfriend, New Kids on the Block singer and Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg, 44 – made her first day as a co-host that much easier, she says she enjoys the thrill of live TV and being in New York City.
"I love being scared out of mind if something goes wrong," McCarthy said. "I'm just so happy to be out of Los Angeles. I miss [my hometown] Chicago. I'm still there on weekends, but I feel like I'm morphing into a New Yorker, and I couldn't be happier about it."

When Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg hooked up this summer, cynics dismissed the relationship as a summer fling.
But things seem to be getting serious for the celebrity couple – so much so that The View's newest co-host, 40, requested that her new beau be her very first guest on the show.
"He was booked to come on the show later to promote Blue Bloods, and I said, 'Can you just switch the date to be my first guest?' " she tells PEOPLE. "He makes me feel really comfortable and puts me at ease and he brings out the best in me. So I thought, 'Why not step out of your comfort zone, for me, and make me feel comfy on that day?' "

New couple Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg channeled some old Hollywood glamour during their first red carpet appearance together Saturday.
McCarthy, 40 – who was hosting a Dancing with the Stars charity event – rocked a plunging black dress and her hair styled in loose waves, while Wahlberg, 44, sported a black tux and red boutonnière.
The coordinated couple cozied up to one another as they walked the red carpet at Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Ill.

Jenny McCarthy has proved that her relationship with Donnie Wahlberg is on and strong.
The new host of The View recently made a little trip to the Jockey store at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, where she swooped up some goodies for herself and her man.
McCarthy picked up Jockey Skimmies Slipshorts "in every color," a source tells PEOPLE, adding that she also snagged some undies for Wahlberg.
"While Jenny was shopping, she was reminiscing on her retail days at Bloomingdales in high school," the source says. "She also talked about how great Donnie is, and how she plans to split her time between her home in Chicago and New York City, where she films The View." –Dahvi Shira

Jenny McCarthy fits right in.
PEOPLE has the first photos of The View's newly-retooled cast of the daytime talk show for what appears to be a promising (and silly!) season ahead.
For the full cast photo, Whoopi Goldberg, 57, decides to wear her serious face, while Sherri Shepherd, 46, and Barbara Walters, 86, sport more traditional grins. The show's newest addition starts out serene, but quickly finds her goofy side in the following shots, dancing with Shepherd and posing alongside Barbara Walters in a form-fitting red dress and platform Mary Janes.

One bubbly, perky – and outspoken – blonde is about to be replaced by another.
Less than a week after the departure of Elisabeth Hasselbeck from the syndicated daytime talkfest The View comes confirmation that Jenny McCarthy will succeed her when the show returns for its 17th season Sept. 9.
"YUP, I'M DOING 'THE VIEW'!" McCarthy trumpeted on her blog Monday. "When word got out that Joy [Behar] was leaving 'The View,' I knew that the timing of my desire and her departure might be serendipitous for me."
"Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor," the show's original host and co-executive producer Barbara Walters said in a statement released by ABC Monday morning.

In a coupling you only thought possible in a nostalgic 1990s-era dream, Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg are dating, PEOPLE has learned – even if they are taking things Step by Step.
Steamy sparks flew between them in late March when New Kids on the Block and Blue Bloods star Wahlberg, 43, made an innuendo-filled appearance on her self-titled VH1 talk show.
The duo provocatively sucked on red lollipops while McCarthy, 40, asked "Do you talk dirty while you're having sex?"
"I do," he replied.
