A week after calling Charlie Sheen the "greatest ex," his former wife Denise Richards is speaking about her relationship with the Anger Management star.

"My situation with Charlie is that we've gotten along for quite some time now, and it's much better, I think," she told reporters at Corolle's Adopt-a-Doll Event in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Richards, 42, said that the former couple remain focused on their daughters, Lola, 7, and Sam, 9.

The knock on the front door of Charlie Sheen's troubled ex-wife Brooke Mueller's home came around 9 p.m. on May 2. Social workers from L.A.'s Department of Child and Family Services, alarmed by Mueller's erratic behavior in recent weeks, had arrived for one explicit reason: to take custody of her two 4-year-old twins, Bob and Max.

"It was a real mess," says a Sheen friend familiar with the incident.

But what happened next came to many as a shock.

There's no better way to refine notorious bad boy Charlie Sheen than through his stomach, and to follow that path he has the winner of ABC'S food competition show The Taste as his personal chef.

Chef Khristianne Uy, known by Sheen and her fans as "Chef K," has already helped get him in shape for his run on Anger Management, and as she tells PEOPLE: "He'll try anything! He's cool like that."

Uy tasked herself with reforming Sheen's taste buds by incorporating green juices into his diet daily and putting her homemade spin on Sheen's "Americana" favorites, like chicken and dumplings, and a popular fast food joint's burger. While it may be hard to imagine Sheen sipping a kale, celery, ginger and apple juice, which Uy calls "The Hulk," Uy explains that Sheen is down to get healthy so he can be at his best while filming Anger Management.

After the Charlie Sheen tiger blood debacle, it would seem that nothing could shock the cast and crew of Two and a Half Men anymore.

Then came the Angus T. Jones video.

"This came as a surprise to most people. This isn't who he grew up as," a source on the show tells PEOPLE. "He's always been a good kid and he's very well-liked by everyone at the show."

The 19-year-old has blasted the CBS sitcom that pays him a reported $350,000 an episode, saying in a video posted on a religious website: "Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth."

It's been a strange couple of days for Angus T. Jones.

One day after a video of the Two and a Half Men actor calling his show "filth" and urging viewers to stop watching went viral, Jones, 19, issued an apology.

"Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and a Half Men whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family," Jones said in a statement Tuesday night.

After Two and a Half Men star Angus T. Jones called the CBS sitcom "filth" and asked viewers to "please stop watching" in an online video, his former costar Charlie Sheen is speaking out.

"With Angus's Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear to me that the show is cursed," Sheen tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Sheen, 47, who now stars on the FX series Anger Management, was fired from the series in March 2011 following a felony menacing charge as a result of fight with wife Brooke Mueller. The actor later bashed the show's creator Chuck Lorre in a string of interviews.

Denise Richards: My Daughters Want to Adopt When They Grow Up

Adopting a child into an already established family can be challenging. But for Denise Richards, adopting baby Eloise has been a seamless transition, thanks in large part to her daughters Sam and Lola.

"To be honest, I didn't want to involve them that early," she said of her 7- and 8-year-old daughters.

"But when you go through the adoption process you have to do a home study, and they have to talk to [your] children, and I didn't want to talk about it with the girls that early, because it was two years before the adoption came through," she said. "I wanted to keep it private, and in our family. I'm actually glad, because it turned out to be a good thing."

Timothy Olyphant & Charlie Sheen Attend a Bowling Party in N.Y.C.

Timothy Olyphant seems to prefer pigskins to bowling balls. The Justified star was overheard talking about football at the FX Upfront party at Lucky Strike in N.Y.C. Thursday – when he was supposed to be joining his castmates at their lane. The event featured talent from seven series on the network (most of whom wore matching bowling shirts with their show names for a star-studded tournament).

One FX star who didn't don the uniform? Charlie Sheen, who talked about his show Anger Management with reporters and mingled amiably in a corner. Elsewhere, Archer's Judy Greer chatted with pals by her show's lane, and Louis CK made the social rounds as well.

Guests sipped cocktails from two open bars and nibbled on passed hors d'oeuvres like mac and cheese bites early, followed by warm chocolate chip cookies after 10 p.m. – right around the time that Russell Brand popped in to promote his new late night show, Strangely Uplifting. (No sign of the Brit in bowling shoes, however!) – Rennie Dyball
