Arsenio Hall Brought to Tears Talking About His Friend Whitney Houston

Originally posted 01/15/2014 05:30PM

Arsenio Hall found himself moved to tears while interviewing Tika Sumpter on his talk show on Wednesday.

Hall, who was a longtime friend of Whitney Houston's, asked the 33-year-old what it was like working with "The Voice" on her last film Sparkle, which came out after she died in 2012.

"Whitney was everything," said Sumpter, who played the Grammy winner's daughter. Friday night was a lively one for Enrique Iglesias, who excited fans at an Atlantico rum-hosted Gilt City New York event at Tenjune.

"He arrived with an entourage and brought rum for everyone to drink," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "He posed for photos with fans and answered fan questions. He seemed like he was in a really good mood."

Although the night was upbeat, things turned sentimental when the singer's topic turned to the late Whitney Houston, who he said "inspired" him and he "always admired."
