Jersey Shore Series Finale: A Peek Behind the Scenes

Gym, tan, laundry ... and tears.
Three years, six seasons and two spin-offs after Jersey Shore's December 2009 premiere, the pop culture phenomenon that extended Ed Hardy's shelf life and gave the importance of hair gel an entirely new meaning is bidding adieu to TV.
In honor of the reality show's grand finale, airing at 10 p.m. on Thursday, PEOPLE caught up with the cast and got some behind-the-scenes scoop from the final days of filming.
Here are five things we know you won't be seeing in the finale that Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, 31, calls, "humorous with a little irony":

Oh, what a night!
New mom Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi enjoyed a night out without baby Lorenzo Tuesday, linking up with Jersey Shore costar Deena Cortese to toast the end of their show at West Hollywood hotspot Bootsy Bellows. But the ladies had some random company, in the form of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and her friend, Faye Resnick.
The foursome – there with a few other pals – arrived around 11:50 p.m. and went to the club's VIP room before hitting the dance floor – hard. The group busted moves to songs like James Brown's "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine" and Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" while sipping vodka cocktails (Richards abstained from alcohol).
Once Cortese spotted club owner David Arquette, she told him, "You need to take a picture with the two meatballs. You're the sausage!" So the actor obliged, posing for a shot with Cortese and Polizzi, later seeking them out to entertain them with his Keith Richards marionette.
Resnick and Richards left around 12:30 a.m., at which time Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough came over to the Jersey Shore stars to say hello – just as Cortese took a tumble backward and broke a few glasses at her table.
At 1 a.m., Cortese and Polizzi left the VIP room and headed for the main part of the club to enjoy some house music, and ran into Glee star Amber Riley, who joined them at a table for a bit.
Meanwhile, Julianne Hough arrived around 1:15 a.m. (sans boyfriend Ryan Seacrest) and immediately hit the dance floor, grooving to the Spice Girls's "Wannabe" and AC/DC's "Back in Black." But when the DJ spun Dion's classic "Runaround Sue," Derek joined Julianne on the dance floor and the two broke out into a full-on choreographed routine. The dance floor cleared as people cheered them on – especially when Derek fell into the splits (more than once!). Julianne left not long after, around 1:40 a.m., and Cortese and Polizzi slipped out a few minutes (and cocktails) later. – Jennifer Garcia

Snooki Says Her Wild Past Isn't 'Really a Big Deal'

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has traded in dance clubs for diaper duty, but that doesn't mean she's ashamed of her hard-partying ways.
"[My wild days] aren't really a big deal," the Jersey Shore star and new mom to son Lorenzo told PEOPLE on Tuesday. "Everyone thinks, 'Oh my God, what are you going to tell Lorenzo?' "
Explains the 25-year-old, "I was 21 years old and I did what everybody else did, but it was just on camera. [I'll tell him], 'Learn from my mistakes and once you go through them, you're going to know how to deal with them.' "

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is lending her expertise to Kate Middleton – as a mommy mentor!
The Jersey Shore star, who gave birth to son Lorenzo in August, offered the expectant Duchess of Cambridge a few tips on being a new mom.
"It's hard, but don't stress out,” Polizzi told the New York Daily News. "Enjoy your pregnancy and be excited."

Nicole Polizzi turns 25 Friday, celebrating with her "favorite birthday gift" – son Lorenzo Dominic, 3 months.
"Best birthday ever with my fiancé [Jionni LaValle] and Lorenzo!!" she Tweeted.
The fist-pumping nights at the club Polizzi is known for may be over, but the Jersey Shore star will still make the most of her special day by going out to dinner with her closest pals.

With her fist-pumping days behind her, newly mature mom Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi no longer spends her conversations trying to figure out what happened the night before.
"I am having a glass of wine talking about politics," the recently reformed party girl, 24, says on an episode of Anderson Live, airing Thursday.
"It's way different. Like, so, 'Who are you voting for?' I mean me and my friends are like, 'What are we saying?' We are getting so old."
