Since it was first introduced in August of 1982, Diet Coke has developed a strangely dedicated fan base.
For Jakki Ballan, Diet Coke is a full-on addiction. The British woman's love for the beverage turned into a 50-can-a-day habit. According to the Daily Mail, Ballan usually consumes twice her body weight in Diet Coke in a week and has already spent close to $250,000 on her obsession.
Ballan's DC consumption started when her doctor recommend that she stop drinking regular soda in order to manage her weight. She switched to Diet Coke in response and didn't look back until her habit started causing hallucinations.
The reality that Ballan kept chugging Diet Coke until she was literally seeing things may sound over-the-top, but the drink has become a lifestyle – and I count myself among the fanatics. I crack open my first fizzing can at nine o'clock in the morning and have a recycling bin overflowing with shining, silver Diet Coke shells by the day's end.

We know you were busy rocking around the Christmas tree (read: picking up last-minute presents) this weekend. So when you're done with that candy cane, here's what you missed:
5. All We Want for Christmas Is …... Mariah Carey's festive (and very, very sexy) red robe! Hey, the weather outside may be frightful, but that didn't stop the singer from showing off what she's been hiding under her winter coat on Instagram.
See her red-hot snapshot.

There's no lack of Christmas cheer in Heidi Klum's home this year!
The America's Got Talent judge, 40, finally comes clean as to why she was seen taking home six evergreen trees earlier this month.
"This year for the first time [the kids] each have their own tree in their room," the mother of four told PEOPLE while hosting a Creativity Holiday Party at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. "That's a lot of trees, I know. They were taking photos of us when we left the lot, and they were like, 'Oh my gosh, they've got the whole forest!' But it's because I have so many kids!"
So what is Klum's brood hoping to find under their trees this year?

Heidi Klum may have dressed up as a 95-year-old woman for Halloween – complete with wrinkles and age spots – but the supermodel insists that she's not scared of getting old.
She finds the idea of plastic surgery far more frightening.
"I've never done anything," Klum, 40, said during an interview on Access Hollywood Live on Thursday. "I've been too scared, to be honest with you."
The Project Runway host says she hasn't had fillers or injections and has come up with a simple solution for those pesky lines on her forehead.

Oh, there's no place like Heidi Klum's home for the holidays. But really – unless you know someone else who's decking their halls with six Christmas trees.
The model, 40, picked out not one, not two, but six evergreen stunners at Mr. Greentrees lot in Beverly Hills, Calif., the Daily Mail reports.
Joined by daughter Leni, 9½, sons Henry, 8, and Johan, 7, as well as beau Martin Kirsten, Klum truly got into the spirit of the season on Saturday.
"Trying to find our perfect tree," she wrote on Instagram.

Excuse us, but we couldn't help but notice that Cheetos are having a moment. And yet, with the good Cheetos news, comes the very bad, and so it goes for Hollywood's opinion of the cheesy product as well.
While Miranda Lambert decided to give them up, Jessica Biel recently shared her Cheetos praise on Twitter. Indeed, many stars seem to have a love/hate relationship with the crunchy, orange-dusted snack.
Let's look at the evidence.

At her 14th annual Halloween bash, Heidi Klum gave guests a glimpse of her future – 55 years into her future, that is.
So what inspired the Queen of Halloween to dress as a 95-year-old woman?
"There was so much talk about me turning 40 this year and what it felt like to be older," Klum told PEOPLE. "I thought, really? I will show you old!"
The supermodel worked with Oscar-winning makeup artist and friend Bill Corso for the transformation. "He came to my house and casted my face," says Klum, who chronicled the process for her Instagram fans.
