Former NASCAR Driver Dick Trickle Dies of Apparent Suicide

Dick Trickle, whose larger-than-life personality and penchant for fun won him legions of fans despite a lack of success beyond the nation's small tracks, died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said. He was 71.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said authorities received a call believed to be from Trickle, who said "there would be a dead body and it would be his." Authorities tried to call the number back, but no one answered.
Trickle's body was found near his pickup truck at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Boger City, N.C., about 40 miles northwest of Charlotte. Sheriff's Lieutenant Tim Johnson said foul play was not suspected.

Katie Holmes was photographed getting up close and personal with her costar on the set of her latest film, Mania Days, in New York on Tuesday.
Wearing long jean shorts cut just above the knee and a white T-shirt, Holmes, 34, laughed with Luke Kirby as the duo walked alongside each other in front of cast and crew.
In another shot, Holmes is snapped pressing her forehead to Kirby's in what seems to be an an intimate moment.

It was a day of pampering for Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise on Saturday.
Just two days after turning 7, Suri indulged in an afternoon of manicures and pedicures at Tribeca's i-Plaza Nail & Spa in New York City.
Nestled in between Holmes and Holmes's mother, Kathleen, Suri played on her iPad as the trio got pedicures. Meanwhile, Holmes and her mother were texting and reading on their phones.

Turning 7 was extra sweet for Suri Cruise, who marked the April 18 milestone with – no surprise here – pretty pink cupcakes.
Mom Katie Holmes treated the birthday girl's first grade class at her Manhattan private school to 24 flourless cupcakes from Eleni's New York bakery. Topping off each of the confections: pink icing and pink nonpareils.
"Everyone loved them," a source tells PEOPLE of the surprise baked up for Tom Cruise's youngest child.

Is there a star who loves his fans more than Tom Cruise?
The 50-year-old actor spent a whopping three-plus hours fist-bumping, snapping pictures and high-fiving the massive crowd that assembled on Hollywood Boulevard Wednesday night for the L.A. premiere of his new sci-fi film, Oblivion.
But while he happily chatted with fans, the megastar – who, contrary to reports, did not talk about his 2012 divorce from Katie Holmes in a German magazine this week – smoothly deflected a question about whether he is open to finding love again.
"Right now, all I'm thinking about is Oblivion!" he told PEOPLE.

It was another mother-daughter bonding day for Katie Holmes and daughter, Suri Cruise.
The actress, 34, couldn't hide her smile on Sunday at Disney World's Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando, Fla., where she took her little one, 6½, on a carousel ride.
Clad in a dress and sweater, with a green polka-dot backpack, Holmes snapped photos of Cruise on her cell phone while sitting on a carousel horse.

Tom Cruise spent four to five days of quality time with daughter Suri last week, as he flew her over in his private jet from New York to London and then brought her up to the swanky Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire.
A source told PEOPLE that Suri was with her father for several days, "but they kept such a low profile that nobody really knew she was there."
