Get ready for another potential OMG boy band moment: 5 Seconds of Summer is about to make its debut on the MTV Video Music Awards.
The Australian pop-punk-loving quartet of tousle-haired hunks (whose members don't consider themselves a boy band) will make its debut Sunday on MTV's over-the-top annual celebration. Boy bands have a long history of VMAs hysteria and much-hyped appearances (think 'N Sync and its 2013 reunion rumors). 5SOS rides the release of a hit album and an opening gig on One Direction's stadium tour into its appearance at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

July 31, 2001, may not seem like a special date to many, but some Top 40 aficionados will remember it as the day Now That's What I Call Music 7 hit shelves and enlivened music lovers of all tastes with their favorite summer jams. Released just a few months before the arrival of the first iPod, this is the last Now album to find its home solely in the slot of Walkmans and CD players across the country.
Thirteen years later, we're up to Now 51 and can get any song we want on our smartphones, but that doesn't mean we should forget the pre-selected simplicity Now 7 brought to teen drivers, road trippers and daily commuters back in 2001. To celebrate this compilation's birthday, we checked up on each of the 19 artists that contributed to this mix of boy bands and pop queens.

When the California orthopedic surgeon got married on June 21, he wanted to give his bride a surprise she'd never forget. So, with the help of his groomsmen, he designed an elaborate dance routine set to Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love," Destiny Child's "Bootylicious," the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" and Bruno Mars's "Marry You," as well as a traditional Persian dance.
