Little Big Town to Host CMA Music Festival

Originally posted 05/28/2014 09:30AM

They're baaaack!

Little Big Town will return to the Nashville stage next week to host the CMA Music Festival. The foursome emceed the fest – a four-day, jam-packed country-music event – in 2013, and treated PEOPLE readers to a behind-the-scenes look at their adventures.

Fans who can't make it to Music City can catch the action on the ABC special Country's Night to Rock on Aug. 5; considering that last year, highlights included a grueling ping-pong match between the men of LBT and Lady Antebellum, we're excited to see what happens in 2014 (perhaps a rematch?).

Music City is going to rock just a little bit harder on June 4, when the CMT Music Awards come to town.

This year's awards show, which will be broadcast live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, will feature performances by Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley and Jennifer Nettles.

They will be performing in addition to previously announced country superstars including Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, and Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, who will perform their duet "Something Bad."

Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes, Kacey Musgraves, Jake Owen and Lee Ann Womack have also been added to the list of performers.

Lambert leads the field with six nominations, and fans can vote for their favorites at CMT.com.

The CMAs in Nashville had viewers seeing stars, but unlike in years past, there wasn't one specific standout.

All the regulars – Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban and hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley – were in town for country's biggest night, but some of the genre's heaviest hitters walked away uncharacteristically empty-handed.

Meanwhile, duo Florida Georgia Line, one of the newer acts over the last few years, walked away with two awards: single of the year for "Cruise" and vocal duo of the year.
