President Barack Obama is gearing up for the election a mere 34 days away, but he has a sweet milestone to celebrate Wednesday: His wedding anniversary with wife Michelle.
"Twenty years ago today, I married the love of my life and my best friend. Happy anniversary, Michelle," Obama Tweeted.
The couple met at Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin in 1989, and shared their first kiss outside a Hyde Park shopping center. There is even a plaque outside, which bears a quote the then Senator shared with Oprah Winfrey in 2007:
"On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate."

More than half the pet dogs and cats in the U.S. are overweight or obese, and it seems one of them lives at the White House.
President Barack Obama advised the young guests at the first ever Kids' State Dinner on Monday against passing any helpings to the First Dog, according to U.S. News & World Report.
"I only have one request for you," Obama told the 54 winners of First Lady Michelle Obama's healthy recipe competition, "and that is try not to drop any scraps on the floor."
"Bo is on a diet right now," he said, "and he will eat anything that he sees, especially some of the tasty meals that you guys have prepared."

Amid all the controversy and chatter about the Supreme Court's decision to uphold his healthcare law, President Barack Obama still hasn't forgotten to make time for his Number 1 pal: First Dog Bo.
On Wednesday, the Commander-in-Chief's Twitter feed posted a photo of the pair sharing a tender moment, simply captioned, "Buddies." In it, the President is seen looking lovingly at his pet, and giving him a rub.
While speaking at a New York City fundraiser earlier in the month, Obama noted that his dog's popularity far outranks his own, saying, "People come to the White House – first they ask, where's Michelle? They ask, where are the girls? And then they say, where's Bo?"

Add Bo Obama to the list of Betty White fans!
The Golden Girl scored some alone time with the First Dog during a visit to Washington, D.C., on Monday, playing with Bo on the White House lawn before meeting his dad, President Barack Obama.
"It was a thrill to be with Mr. Obama," she told the Huffington Post, "but the big thrill was being with Bo."

Here comes the sun!
As the official start of summer quickly approaches, humans in the Northern Hemisphere are heading outside – and so are their pets. Bo Obama, for one, caught some rays while walking through the White House Rose Garden on Wednesday.
Larry the 10 Downing Street cat, the U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron's pet and Bo's counterpart across the Pond, got his dose of Vitamin D on Wednesday while sitting on the doorstep of his famous residence.
Who knew the two sides had so much in common?

Bo Obama knows firsthand the importance of a garden.
The one in his own backyard is the source of one of his favorite treats (broccoli) and a valued place for his favorite First Lady, Michelle Obama.
It comes as no surprise, then, that Bo would figure prominently in Mrs. Obama's new book, American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America, in which she invites readers to learn about the White House crops and healthy eating.

It isn't everyday that Rachael Ray gets to meet the country's most beloved dog – but on a recent day at the White House, the talk show host got to meet Bo Obama for the first time.
For a special episode of the Rachael Ray Show, Ray joined Michelle Obama for a barbecue on the South Lawn. They cooked up three dishes using ingredients from the First Lady's vegetable garden.
As if that weren't enough of a treat, Ray (who makes no secret of her bias towards dogs) sat down with Bo for an "interview," during which they looked through Mrs. Obama's new book, American Grown.

President Barack Obama had the audience in stitches during Saturday's White House Correspondents' Dinner, and with no subject did he draw bigger laughs than the ongoing "dog wars" being played out between political parties.
"I know everybody is predicting a nasty election, and thankfully, we've all agreed that families are off-limits," he said. "Dogs, however, are apparently fair game."

Bo Obama, tour guide? Who knew!
The First Dog surprised a group of reporters during a press preview of the annual spring garden tour of the White House on Saturday, appearing before them on the South Lawn.
The assembled journalists couldn't help themselves, and smiled as they took photos of the famous Portuguese water dog as he led them down the garden path.

Let the wild rumpus start!
First Dog Bo joined President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, along with their daughters Malia and Sasha, for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday. During the Storytime Stage portion of this year's Let's Go, Let's Play, Let's Move!-themed event, the President read aloud the Maurice Sendak classic, Where the Wild Things Are.
While the President seemed to be roaring his terrible teeth and rolling his terrible eyes for the audience, Bo sat quietly at Mrs. Obama's feet.
