For the past week, all eyes have been on Miley Cyrus as she faces the spotlight in the wake of her split from ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Inquisitive fans are searching for clues as to what went wrong – especially in the star's music.
But in a new interview with Rolling Stone, the singer admits that a moment in her controversial video for "Wrecking Ball," in which she appears completely nude, came about not because of her relationship with Hemsworth, but because of her pets.
"That was real," Cyrus tells the interviewer of the close-up in which she sheds a tear. "My dog just passed away."

If you thought any of Miley Cyrus's antics were crazy before, you might say she's officially gone bananas.
Less than a month after her scandalous performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, the recently single "Wrecking Ball" singer, 20, Tweeted out a new image showing off her wild side – with a monkey.
"#Twerkinwithadayummonkeyonmyback," she captioned the photo, which shows the immaculately dressed critter (and scantily clad Cyrus) getting down in Las Vegas (where she returned to the stage last weekend for the first time since calling off her engagement to Liam Hemsworth).

She came for a show, but left with a puppy!
While performing in West Palm Beach, Fla., with Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert made a pit stop at the Big Dog Ranch Rescue in nearby Wellington and failed to leave empty handed. Bentley posted a photo of the singer's adorable new pup on WhoSay Saturday, writing, "Look who adopted another dog! Hint: he is headed to Oklahoma..."

Amanda Seyfried could learn a thing or two about acting from her dog, Finn.
We don't think he'll get a nod at the A-Cat-emy Awards this year – but there's plenty of buzz around our office about the Australian shepherd's emergence as a serious and method-inspired actor, who's not afraid to take risks on the screen with a little James Franco-worthy performance art.
Donning a masquerade mask in an Instagram video Seyfried posted Monday (watch below), Finn comes off as deliberately camera shy (so in character!), standing completely still as the camera captures him from different angles. Like the Lovelace star, the dog acts with his eyes – which appear to be saying, 'Really?'

There's a Brazilian beauty under all that fur!
Gisele Bündchen shared a photo on Instagram Monday of her cute cuddle with Lua, the pit bull mix who is a very loyal member of the Bündchen-Brady clan.
When the supermodel was pregnant with her 8-month-old daughter Vivian, the dog was spotted stroller side with Benjamin, now 3½, who often held the dog's leash. Her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, also frequently takes Lua along when he's on daddy duty.

Excuse me, Taylor – I'm waiting!
Though Swift is a constant presence on best dressed lists, it seems like her cat, Meredith, has her own fierce fashion opinions.
"Somehow this adds extra pressure to the already-stressful task of choosing what shoes to wear to meet and greet," the singer Tweeted on Thursday, sharing a photo of her feline staring down several pairs of pumps. While Swift's best furry friend has often been present for some of the star's biggest moments, including to celebrate her 2013 Grammy win, perhaps this time, the country crooner would prefer to have a second to herself.

A group of lucky journalists got the interview they've been clamoring for on Monday – with Sunny, the White House's new pup!
After President Barack Obama completed some interviews of his own, the newest First Dog stepped outside the White House briefing room to mingle with reporters, like NBC's Savannah Guthrie and Peter Alexander.
"It's safe to say the press corps is smitten," Alexander told TODAY.com, after he and his fellow journalists spoiled Sunny with a hefty helping of attention, including neck and belly rubs!

One of the world's most famous families met one of the world's most unusual animals: the dugong.
During a visit to the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium on Sept. 8, Angelina Jolie and her kids Knox, 5, Vivienne, 5, Shiloh, 7, Zahara, 8, and Pax, 9, came face-to-face with the aquarium's pair of dugongs, Pig and Wuru. The large marine mammals, which resemble manatees, are two of only six on display anywhere in the world. (For more information about the dugong, see the educational video below.)
A day earlier, Jolie, 38, took her brood to the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, where they saw Australian wildlife such as koalas, a ring-tailed possum and various reptiles.

Miranda Lambert doesn't seem to be expanding her canine brood any time soon. (At last count, she's a mom to six pooches, but you just never know with the avid animal lover.)
But the country crooner is always more than willing to lend a paw when it comes to helping pooches in need find forever homes. So on Sunday, Lambert live-Tweeted her rescue efforts near her home in Tishomingo, Okla., where she helped an animal rescue adopt out a staggering number of pets.
