Colton Haynes Breaks Down in Tears Accepting HRC Visibility Award: 'Equality Is Our Birthright – It's Not a Slogan'

Colton Haynes got emotional accepting the Human Rights Campaign's Visibility Award over the weekend.
The Teen Wolf and Arrow star, who publicly came out as gay earlier this year, was already teary when he took the stage to deliver his heartfelt speech.
"I have experienced a lot of 'wow' moments in my life, but I think tonight is probably topping all of them," he said. "I just want to thank all of you for letting me feel your love. I hope you feel mine. It's taken me a long time to get here, so I hope you feel that."

On Saturday, the Teen Wolf star will be presented with the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award at 17th Annual HRC Seattle Gala.
"Colton Haynes has inspired countless LGBTQ young people across the country and around the world to live their lives as their authentic selves," said HRC President Chad Griffin in a press release. "By simply being open about who he is, Haynes is helping to break down barriers and tear down closet doors."
