Scarlett Is 'Just So Happy' About Engagement, Says Pal

Marriage has always been part of Scarlett Johansson's plans, a pal tells PEOPLE.
"I was just so happy when she told me [about her engagement to Ryan Reynolds, 31]," said designer Roland Mouret – who just saw the actress at Monday's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in New York.
"It's something she's really wanted – to meet someone and get married," he added, speaking to PEOPLE at the Vogue magazine launch of Tim Walker's portraits in London. "She's just such a great person and I'm so happy for her and wish her every happiness. She deserves it."

Paris Hilton Rocks a New Ring – from Benji Madden

Always one to keep the public talking, Paris_Hilton showed up to talk about her new hair extension line with Sally Beauty Supply wearing a notable new accessory: a two-banded diamond ring on that finger.
Asked if the baubles were an engagement ring from boyfriend Benji Madden, Hilton told PEOPLE, "No, it's just a present. He's sweet."
Still, the duo have already discussed marriage. "We want to stay together forever," she said Thursday. "I wouldn't do a Vegas [wedding]. I don't know where or when but I do want it to be romantic."

Heidi Klum: Seal Proposed in an Igloo

While Heidi Klum has long made public her lust-at-first-sight reaction upon initially meeting her eventual husband Seal, she's now revealing how his marriage proposal propelled her to the top of the world – literally.
"[Seal] took me by helicopter," the Project Runway host, 34, tells Marie Claire's June issue about their December 2004 vacation to the Canadian Rockies. "He had an igloo built there, and they'd brought up everything: a bed with sheets inside the igloo, rose petals everywhere, candles. Very, very romantic!"
As she goes on to describe, "There was food and champagne, and then the helicopter left. It was a little scary, too, because you're so cut off from the world. No trees, nothing – it was hardcore. But I was ecstatic."

Friend: Mariah Is 'Over the Moon' About Marriage

Newlywed Mariah Carey is "over the moon" with happiness about her recent marriage to Nick Cannon, according to her friend, Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley.
"She is very happy," he told PEOPLE at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in New York on Monday. "I've spoken with her and she is superb. She is over the moon."
In his latest communication from the singer, he said she sounds like a woman in love. "I received an email from her [Monday] and she is so happy. She really sounds like someone on her honeymoon."
Talley also had words of praise for the songbird's new husband. "I love Nick Cannon for Mariah," he said. "For Mariah, this is poetry."
As for her wedding fashion, Talley said the nuptials happened so quickly that "I didn't have the time to offer her any style tips!"

Prince Harry Gets Medal as Chelsy Cheers Him On

The 22-year-old student – who split with her royal beau briefly last November – was a special guest as Harry received an army honor Monday.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's recent wedding not only surprised fans, but their friends and close associates, too.
"I'm shell shocked," a source in Carey's camp tells PEOPLE. "As far as I know, they are happy together."
Music mogul Russell Simmons said he didn't know about the nuptials ahead of time, but sees why the pairing works. "Whatever makes them happy," he said Friday. "They have a lot in common and should have a lot of fun together."

EXCLUSIVE: Nick Cannon Tells a Pal, 'I'm in Love' with Mariah

Nick Cannon is head over heels for his new bride, Mariah Carey, according to Jacob Arabo, who created the diamond sparkler that the actor gave the singer as an engagement ring.
"The way he came into the store, the mood he was in, I knew this was very serious," Arabo tells PEOPLE exclusively. "He said 'Jacob, I'm in love. This is what I want to do.' "
Though there's been no official confirmation of a wedding, the pair obtained a marriage license on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera, and Cannon's family confirmed the pair got hitched.
According to Arabo, Cannon, 27, came to Jacob & Co. two weeks ago and asked to have an engagement ring created for Carey, 39. "He said he wanted something in pink, so he picked something in a light purple-ish pink. He was very involved and he trusted me to design the ring."

Jenny McCarthy Opens Up About Boyfriend Jim Carrey

Jenny McCarthy loves boyfriend Jim Carrey for several reasons – but especially because he loves her.
"There are so many things," the actress, 35, told PEOPLE in Los Angeles Wednesday night at the Grey Goose-sponsored party for Chelsea Handler's new book, Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea.
For starters, she cited Carrey's "capacity to love and to take on something that most men would completely run away from."
McCarthy, who revealed her 5-year-old son Evan's condition nearly a year ago on The View and published a book about their experiences, Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism, said of Carrey, 46: "He could have any 20-year-old perfect girl with perfect breasts, and he stays. He has really opened his heart and his life to us. I'll forever be grateful."

Though her relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo only has been cooking since around last Thanksgiving, "It feels like forever," Simpson, 27, tells Glamour magazine for its June issue. "I love this guy. Can you feel it?"
Crediting Romo, 28, with helping her rediscover her inner strength, "What he's done for me is irreplaceable," she says. "He reintroduced me to myself. I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and more artsy. ... Tony taught me that because he loves me [as me]. He made me feel comfortable [being myself] again.

Benji Madden Writes a Love Song for Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton has become a muse to her boyfriend of two months, Benji Madden.
"He actually wrote me a beautiful song, and actually recorded it in the studio," Hilton, 27, said Monday night at the LG launch of the TV series Scarlet. "He surprised me with it. It's called, 'Shine Your Light.' It's this really beautiful love song about me. It was the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me."
