Pulling out of the Winter Olympics was devastating for skiing champion Lindsey Vonn – but, thankfully, the slow recovery from her knee injury hasn't been too ruff.
"I get to spend time with my new dog," she told PEOPLE at DirecTV's Super Saturday Concert Event over the weekend. "He's keeping me happy."
The boxer-retriever mix named Leo – whom Vonn adopted from a shelter on Christmas Eve – has made a difficult turn of events so much easier for the athlete, especially since he knows exactly what she's going through.

Best new artist nominee Ed Sheeran isn't guaranteed to win Grammy gold this Sunday – but he's already got a golden heart.
The singer/songwriter adopted a 1-month-old kitten who was about to be put down this week, and has been spoiling him rotten ever since.
"Just bought Graham a bed and snacks," Sheeran Tweeted on Thursday, before setting Graham up with his very own personal Twitter account. He followed that up with even more A-List attention, writing, "Graham needs a lot of TLC, have a feeling his previous owners weren't that nice, he's shy too."

If Lindsey Vonn knee-ded a sign that a 9-month-old shelter dog was meant to be hers, she definitely got one.
The star skier, who was "devastated" to announce this week that she was pulling out of the upcoming Sochi Olympics due to a knee injury, was drawn to her new dog, Leo, because he suffers from an injury himself.
"This definitely brightened my day – I adopted this 9 month old cutie from an animal shelter. He has a bad knee from being hit by a car when he was a puppy and no one wanted him … but I do!!" she wrote on Facebook Wednesday, sharing a sweet shot of herself with the brown and black pup.

The fur's still flying for the Duck Dynasty clan – but, this time, literally.
Jep Robertson, the youngest son of the TV show's patriarch Phil Robertson, and his wife Jessica have welcomed a new dog to their family.
"Jep & Lily Lulu playing with our new pup Gizmo," Jessica Robertson Tweeted alongside a photo of her husband and their 11-year-old daughter Lily cooing at the fluffy white pup.
Their new addition comes on the heels of controversy for the family, who are getting back to business after the A&E network temporarily suspended Phil Robertson last month over anti-gay and racist comments.

Looks like Charles Esten has fallen for a costar ...
Meet Blue, the actor's recently adopted yellow Lab, who starred as his dog last season on Nashville. Onscreen, the dog was a gift to his character, Deacon Claybourne, from Hayden Panettiere's country vixen Juliette Barnes. Though Deacon gave the dog away to a love interest (played by Susan Misner), Esten was not prepared to say goodbye to that sweet face.
While filming the show earlier this year, he decided to welcome the pup into his own family, which includes his three kids with wife Patty.
