Meet Blue, the actor's recently adopted yellow Lab, who starred as his dog last season on Nashville. Onscreen, the dog was a gift to his character, Deacon Claybourne, from Hayden Panettiere's country vixen Juliette Barnes. Though Deacon gave the dog away to a love interest (played by Susan Misner), Esten was not prepared to say goodbye to that sweet face.
While filming the show earlier this year, he decided to welcome the pup into his own family, which includes his three kids with wife Patty.

It was a weekend to remember for Andy Cohen – the Watch What Happens Live host adopted his first dog!
"I've been thinking about a dog for a while," Cohen tells Bravo's The Dish of the beagle/foxhound mix he adopted from New Jersey's See Spot Rescued on Friday. "I just felt like I wanted to open my life up to a dog and I thought rescuing a dog was the right way to go."
The Bravo personality, 45, has named the rescue pup Wacha, in honor of Michael Wacha, the pitcher of his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. And so far, potty training has been a home run.

Lea Michele has a new "little love" in her life.
As the Glee actress slowly moves on from the pain of losing boyfriend and costar Cory Monteith in July, she has adopted an 8-year-old pooch named Pearl.
"Today I would like to introduce you to Pearl. She's 8 years old and is my new little love … Welcome Pearl!" she wrote Tuesday, sharing a photo of the caramel-colored pooch, who looks like a Pomeranian.

Here's proof that babies bring people together!
Former couple Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, who parted ways earlier this year after several years of dating, were together Tuesday in Atlanta for the birth of his dog Nietzsche's puppies.
And the experience was definitely an eye-opener for the Vampire Diaries costars, even if they no longer have eyes for each other.
"Live from the whelping box In Atlanta! Panting, pushing, contractions – Wow. Make no mistake about it – Ladies rule," he wrote on Tuesday alongside an Instagram photo of himself cuddling the dog, who welcomed eight little ones. "Women of every species blow my mind … Incredible what mamas go through! Love to you mamas – all over the world. Jeez."

She came for a show, but left with a puppy!
While performing in West Palm Beach, Fla., with Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert made a pit stop at the Big Dog Ranch Rescue in nearby Wellington and failed to leave empty handed. Bentley posted a photo of the singer's adorable new pup on WhoSay Saturday, writing, "Look who adopted another dog! Hint: he is headed to Oklahoma..."

Cats apparently aren't the only ones with nine lives.
Actress Melissa Gilbert saved a tiny rabbit from the clutches of her feline, and she plans to nurse the critter back to health.
"Rescued from the jaws of death," Gilbert, 49, wrote alongside an Instagram photo of the small animal, which she has named Hazel. Cuddling the bunny in another pic, she wrote, "Look what the cat brought in. Going to get her big and strong then release her in the garden."

More than three months after his split from Nina Dobrev, The Vampire Diaries's Ian Somerhalder seems to have fallen hard – for his new rescue dog.
The actor, 34, introduced his "new girl" over Instagram on Monday, and explained how she unexpectedly came into his life.
"Rescued from traffic near the Vampire Diaries stages just a few hours ago," he wrote, describing the pup as "so smart, so beautiful & charming – all a man could ask for in a girl."

There's a new pitter patter of little feet at Kellie Pickler's home – but not that kind.
"Me & Peanut," the Dancing with the Stars champ Tweeted on Sunday, sharing a photo of her furry friend captioned #MyNewPup.
Pickler and her husband, Kyle Jacobs, are already pet parents to a menagerie of animals, including a number of dogs, a cat and a snake.

Over the weekend, Mandy Moore and husband Ryan Adams became pet parents to two new rescue cats.
