A teen dancer taught by Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller has sued the notoriously aggressive instructor for assault, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

In a complaint filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Paige Hyland, 13, alleges that Miller, who runs the Abby Lee Dance Co., "intentionally engaged in conduct that caused Plaintiff Paige Hyland to reasonably believe that she was about to be touched or harmed in an offensive manner."
