Taylor Armstrong: I Never Thought I'd Find Love Again

Taylor Armstrong on Life with New Husband – and Finally Finding Happiness

Originally posted 04/10/2014 12:00PM

It was a day she never thought would be possible. On April 4, a beaming Taylor Armstrong exchanged vows with new husband John Bluher, finally finding the happy ending she'd so longed for.

Armstrong's first marriage, to Russell Armstrong, was turbulent and abusive, even landing the reality star in the hospital. Then, just one month after Armstrong filed for divorce in July 2011, Russell committed suicide, leaving her with unpaid bills, an outstanding lawsuit and their then 5-year-old daughter, Kennedy, to raise on her own.

"When everything you think is one way turns out to be different, it's a scary feeling," Armstrong, 42, tells PEOPLE. "I couldn't fathom ever loving somebody again, ever trusting somebody again."

Originally posted 04/04/2014 12:00PM

It may have been pouring rain in Asheville, N.C., on Friday, but underneath a tent filled with flowers it felt like the sun was shining.

That's because Rebekah Gregory and Pete DiMartino, who were gravely injured in last April's Boston Marathon bombing, were standing together, exchanging vows in front of family and friends who at one time had worried this day might never come.

Please welcome back Rebekah Gregory! Rebekah and her fiancé, Pete DiMartino, will wed in Asheville, N.C., on April 4 in TheKnot.com's Dream Wedding. The two had been dating just over a year when they were both injured in the April 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing. In the midst of their recovery, Pete, 29, proposed, and the rest is becoming history. In the weeks leading up to her wedding, Rebekah, 26, is blogging for PEOPLE.com about her recovery, her relationship and the wedding planning process. Follow her on Twitter @rebekahmgregory and visit her Facebook inspiration page.

My wedding week is officially here and it feels like we have been going nonstop. So it's no surprise that it did not hit me until the other night that I am actually getting married. In just three days from now, I will vow to love one man for the rest of my life – whoa, that's a pretty big deal, right?!

I guess it's typical for all brides to reflect back on their lives a little bit during this time. And man, if you told me a year ago that I would be on my way to Asheville, N.C., to get hitched right now I would've sent you to a loony bin. But that's the funny thing about life: You never can tell what it's going to throw at you. And I have to say, it's been a wild ride – but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
