Cassey Ho: Meet YouTube's Fitness Star

Watching YouTube fitness star Cassey Ho smile as she does a million squats (at least that's what it feels like if you've tried her most popular video, Call Me Maybe Mighty Squat Challenge), you would never guess she grew up chubby.

"There were some mean kids back then, and that affected me," says the bubbly host of YouTube channel Blogilates, which has 1.3 million subscribers. "I became conscious of my body at a young age."

But it wasn't until high school that Ho discovered fitness – from an infomercial. "I was 16, and Mary Winsor was on TV trying to sell her Pilates DVD. And I was like, 'That's really cool!' So I asked my parents to buy me the DVD and absolutely fell in love."

When it comes to hitting it big on social media, bum's the word!

At least that's the case for the 20-year-old New Yorker Jen Selter, who has squatted and lunged her way into the hearts and Instagram feeds of folks around the world thanks to her "belfies," or butt selfies, she posts online.

A couple of years ago "I started posting motivating fitness pictures and quotes that got me up and wanting to work out," Selter explains in this week's issue of PEOPLE featuring Hollywood's Most Talked About Bodies. "When I randomly added a photo of my own body, I saw a lot of likes."

Lisa Whelchel Sounds Off on Exercise and Dating at 50

Lisa Whelchel has tried every exercise in the book – and she's suffered the injuries to prove it.

"I hurt my shoulder playing racquetball, I have a lower back injury from an aerobics class and I messed up my feet while training to climb Mount Whitney," she tells PEOPLE. "Even on Survivor, when I did the mud challenge, I developed sciatica that has continued to give me trouble."

So what's an active gal to do? "I decided to make my own exercise video," says Whelchel, who turned 50 in May. "It's a doable full-body workout that you can do in 20 minutes. It has stretching, resistance, cardio and a cool down. Exercise is different once you get a little older. It doesn't always have to be high impact."

"If I'm having a challenging moment, I jump for joy. Literally," she tells SELF for its December cover story. "After a minute, I feel better, and after a few minutes, I'm really happy. Everything else just drops off. It gets me out of my head and into my body, and it makes me feel present."

Kerr, 30, who publicly separated from her husband of three years last month, accentuated the positive during her new interview – and encouraged others to do the same.

Looking at Shakira's rock-hard abs, it's hard to believe that the singer delivered her first child earlier this year.
