Few things are as sexy as a lean, sculpted midsection.
Whether it be the sexy midriff on Rihanna or the trim abs of Robert Pattinson, a toned midsection is imperative if you want to look good with – or without – clothes.
The first thing you should know about getting a great midsection is that you have to get rid of the fat covering the area.
Since there is no such thing as "spot reduction," you need to eat well and do regular aerobic activity. Take the stairs, get off the subway a stop earlier, park your car a little further away to burn any fat that may get in the way of seeing your hard-earned stomach muscles.

Winter is coming!
Game of Thrones stars Peter Dinklage and Richard Madden kicked off the Emmys with a work out in Beverly Hills on Sunday morning.
Hours before the big awards show, the pair, who play prominent members of dueling families on HBO's hit fantasy drama, were spotted at the fitness center at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Dinklage, who earned a nomination for his role as Tyrion Lannister, jogged on the treadmill as Madden, who plays King in the North Robb Stark lifted weights.
"Richard was really working up a sweat!" an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
While Dinklage didn't take home an award, Game of Thrones did win Emmys for outstanding sound editing for a series, outstanding sound mixing for a comedy or drama series, outstanding special visual effects, outstanding art direction for a single-camera series, outstanding costumes for a series and outstanding makeup (non-prosthetic) for a single-camera series.

After delivering daughter Willow Sage 15 months ago, Pink was in no rush to lose the 55 lbs. she gained while pregnant.
"I love to feel fit. I love to feel healthy. I wasn't in a race," she tells PEOPLE. "I was really kind to myself because I was actually really impressed with the fact that I had just had a baby, like 'I made a human!' "
The singer-songwriter, 33, was ready to hit the gym eight weeks after Willow was born, but it wasn't easy.

Five months after giving birth to baby Samuel, Jennifer Garner showed off her stunning post-baby body at a Los Angeles movie premiere earlier this week.
"I was working out with my trainer this morning," Garner, 40, said at the premiere of The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which hits theaters Aug. 15. "And she was like 'Yeah, I think it's time. I think we need to put some pleather on!' "
Trainer Valerie Waters credits Garner's enviable figure to the actress's consistent workouts during and after pregnancy.

Alanis Morissette struggled with depression her whole life, but recently, she found an effective antidote: running.
Morissette, 35, tells Runner's World that "running has made being depressed impossible. If I'm going through something emotional and just go outside for a run, you can rest assured I'll come back with clarity."
