Eva Mendes knows exactly why people think she might be expecting with her longtime beau Ryan Gosling.
"It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know, those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy," Mendes explained to Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"They basically see you naked, right?" said Mendes. "And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out. I always ask for a personal pat-down. I don't mean in person, I meant in private because they can take you. Ladies, I want you to know that they can take you in private, they can take you into an area."
"Good idea. Good idea. That's the way to get a Valentine," DeGeneres joked. "Even better, you can go to an area."

Almost two months after Marlise Munoz, age 33 and then 14-weeks pregnant, was declared brain dead at John Peter Smith Hospital in Forth Worth, Texas, and her husband and parents fought to have her removed from life support, a judge has sided with her family.
In a widely debated and watched case that put Texas's Advance Directives Act – stating that life sustaining measures could not be removed from a pregnant patient – front and center, resolution may have come for Marlise's husband, Erick, with whom she has son Mateo, 16 months, and her parents Lynne and Ernest Machado in Tarrant County District Court. Judge R.H. Wallace ordered that the hospital remove life support by 5 p.m. on Jan. 27.
After an hour of hearing both sides' arguments, Wallace stated, "I respect JPS' arguments in trying to follow the law, but every section doesn't apply to someone who is dead."

After announcing in October that she was expecting, Vanessa Carlton revealed on Facebook Tuesday that she was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy and later underwent emergency surgery to remove her right fallopian tube.
As a result of ongoing pain from the surgery, the musician, 33, has canceled the first four November dates of her scheduled tour.
"I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, or in my case it was a fallopian pregnancy (the embryo settled in my tube, which is the width of a straw)," the A Thousand Miles singer wrote.

Walking into the after-party for her Saturday Night Live hosting gig in the wee hours of Nov. 3, Kerry Washington did something shocking: She grabbed the hand of her husband, former 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, and held it in public.
For the very private star, who wed in secret this past June after a three-year courtship she'd kept quiet even from friends, it may be out of character. But then again, she has a lot to be happy about at the moment: her loving marriage, her popular TV series, Scandal, and a baby on the way.
"Kerry's in it to win it, and she's winning," her friend Joe Reinstein, who worked with her during Barack Obama's two presidential campaigns, tells PEOPLE in its new issue, on stands Friday. "She deserves everything."

Teresa Palmer certainly has it – that pregnancy glow!
The Australian actress, 27, recently showed off her expectant belly in photos for Who magazine. And her fiancé, the American actor Mark Webber, posted a similar photo to Instagram, along with an adorable note to the bride- and mom-to-be.
"The love of my life @tez_palmer, with the other love of my life growing in her beautiful belly," wrote Webber, 33. "What an incredible feeling to look at a picture of your love and get washed over with feelings of pure joy, hope, excitement, inspiration and unconditional love."

With just a couple of weeks to go until she gives birth to her first child, America's Next Top Model star Lisa D'Amato admits that she and her husband, Adam Friedman, "couldn't be more excited and scared s––tless at the same time."
The 31-year-old, who revealed in May that she was having a boy, tells PEOPLE that while she's had an "incredibly healthy" pregnancy, it hasn't been fun. She's still suffering from morning sickness every day, she says, even though she's more than eight months pregnant.
"I'm usually feeling pretty bad but always trying to stay positive," she says. "When people say I'm glowing, I tell them it's because someone needs to put on the AC. That whole 'pregnancy glow' thing is a joke! There is nothing pretty about pregnancy except creating a life – other than that I think it's pretty gross."
