The father of the 9-year-old Minnesota boy who last week stowed away on a Delta flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Las Vegas admits that the boy needs help.
"I don't have an angel, okay? I have a 9-year-old," the father told CNN affiliate WCCO. "To me, he's got a behavioral problem."
The father, who asked not to be identified (because of the boy's age, the young stowaway also has not been named publicly), told the TV station that the family has been unsuccessfully trying to get help for his son for years.
Earlier it was reported that the boy has a history of sneaking into a local waterpark and that he recently stole and crashed a vehicle.
"I miss my son," the father said of the boy who reportedly is still being held by child welfare authorities in Las Vegas. "I love my son."

While airport and airline officials continue to gather information in the mystery of how a 9-year-old boy successfully evaded security and stowed away on a Minneapolis-to-Las Vegas Delta flight last week, new details about the young passenger are emerging.
The boy – who, because of his age, is not being identified by name – is no stranger to trouble, reports radio station KFGO AM, which says he's broken into a waterpark without buying a ticket.
Last week, says the station, he was arrested for driving on I-35 in a stolen car.

It was 10 years ago that Roy Horn of the celebrated duo Siegfried and Roy stood on the Las Vegas stage. Suddenly, he was no longer standing.
Instead, he was being hauled off the stage in the mouth of a white tiger named Montecore.
While many assumed at the time that his death was a foregone conclusion, especially considering he went "code blue" three times that night and 25 percent of skull had to be removed, Horn lived to tell his story.
But how is he doing a decade after that horrific accident?

It may seem like Britney Spears couldn't have gotten any sexier in her whip-cracking music video for "Work B–," but she's letting her fans know they didn't even see the half of it – literally.
"Oh, my God, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there," she said Thursday on Boston's 103.3 Amp Radio. "Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it's just hard to play sexy mom while you're being a pop star as well."
But, acknowledges the soon-to-be Las Vegas resident performer, 31, "A lot of sex goes into what I do."

"What I wish for her, especially as a mother, is for her to find wonderful people who can help her find a balance between the artist that she is and the mother, and to try and find an emotional balance to cope with those two and be the best of both worlds," Dion tells ET Canada in an interview set to air Tuesday. "I think she can really do it!"

The couple, who has been dating since early July, are still in the honeymoon phase.
"It's new," she said. "I took a year off [from dating] but I said if I meet someone who makes me stop that year off, it's someone who I need to pay attention to."
