Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson, testifying Wednesday in a fraud trial against two former personal assistants who once worked for her and ex-husband Charles Saatchi, said on the stand that he was bent on destroying her after a restaurant argument earlier this year went viral.
"He said that if I didn't go back to him and clear his name he would destroy me," Nigella told Isleworth Crown Court in West London.
Lawson, 53, struggled to maintain her composure on the witness stand, noting she was reluctant to testify in a case where two former assistants have been charged with spending more than a million dollars on luxury goods on her husband's credit card, which they'd had access to for household purchases.

Three traumatized women have been rescued from a London home after one called a charity to say she'd been held against her will for more than three decades, British police said Thursday.
Metropolitan Police said a 67-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were arrested on Thursday at a home in south London as part of an investigation into slavery and domestic servitude.
The investigation comes after a charity contacted police in October to report that a woman had phoned to say she'd been held unwillingly for more than 30 years.
The catalyst for the call was a television documentary on forced marriages, according to police.

Hail to the (future) king!
The world got its first glimpse of William and Kate's newborn son Tuesday on the steps of St. Mary's hospital in London. The day-old prince, swaddled in a blanket, already looked to be waving to the crowd.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not reveal the baby's name – preferring to wait, much as William's parents, Charles and Diana, did 31 years ago in delaying the revelation of his name for several days.
