2013 is shaping up to be the year of Beyoncé.

After a powerful Super Bowl halftime show, the singer, 31, is embarking on the Mrs. Carter world tour – and just added a special performance.

Beyoncé will return to New Orleans's Superdome to headline one of three concerts during the 19th annual Essence Festival, the magazine confirms.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Beyoncé back to the 2013 Essence Festival lineup. She is truly the ultimate Essence woman," Communications President Michelle Ebanks said in a statement.

Essence Music Festival in New Orleans: Kanye West, Usher and Jennifer Hudson Will Perform

As if seeing New Edition reunite after 30 years isn't enough, fans of hip-hop and R&B can catch a slew of other stellar old – and newer – musicians' performances over fourth of July weekend at the Essence Music Festival.

From start to finish of the three-day event, power acts like Usher, Kanye West, Chaka Khan and Boyz II Men will grace one of five stages for guests of the New Orleans-based celebration.

Each night, artists start at around 7:00 P.M. and end at approximately 11:30 P.M. Other acts at the event include Jennifer Hudson, Naughty by Nature, Trey Songz, Mary J. Blige and MC Lyte.
