After a powerful Super Bowl halftime show, the singer, 31, is embarking on the Mrs. Carter world tour – and just added a special performance.
Beyoncé will return to New Orleans's Superdome to headline one of three concerts during the 19th annual Essence Festival, the magazine confirms.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome Beyoncé back to the 2013 Essence Festival lineup. She is truly the ultimate Essence woman," Communications President Michelle Ebanks said in a statement.
