In her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence takes on blood-thirsty mutts and killer bees (not to mention the expert Careers with killer instincts and good looks).
But can she take on the funny ladies of Bridesmaids?
Her bow and arrow won't help her much when her film goes head-to-head with the ensemble comedy at this year's MTV Movie Awards, where both The Hunger Games and Bridesmaids are nominated eight times (for movie of the year, best cast and breakthrough performance, among other categories).

Tom Cruise has had decent dance moves since Risky Business. But he took things to a whole new level Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards – grinding his way through a hilarious routine in character as Tropic Thunder's comically crass film producer Les Grossman.
Cruise, 47, showed off the foul-mouthed, balding, hairy-armed Grossman's smooth, not-very-sexy moves in a dance-off with Jennifer Lopez on her song "Get Right." The routine brought raucous applause from the audience, as well as a beaming grin from wife Katie Holmes.
"It was a lot of fun – it was a blast!" Cruise told PEOPLE in the press room afterward. "You know, I can dance a bit, and we rehearsed. And my wife's a dancer, so I like dancing!"

For the second time in as many days, Sandra Bullock stepped before the public, looking radiant and collecting awards.
Sunday night her prize was the Generation Award, presented at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards and marking her first televised appearance since the March 7 Oscars and the domestic drama that followed.
Defining the Generation Award as something that goes to "old people" who are clearing out to make way for younger ones, Bullock told the crowd inside Universal City's Gibson Amphitheater, "That's not going to happen. I'm staying. Because no matter what you might have seen or heard or read lately, I love what I do. And I'm not going anywhere."

The MTV Movie Awards will have a taste of the serious and the silly this year – at least in the best breakout star category.
The Hangover's hilarious Zach Galifianakas will be up against Oscar-nominated Gabourey Sidibe, star of the heart-wrenching Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.
"The moment I heard it my heart jumped a little and, oddly, I have always wanted golden popcorn," Sidibe says of the nomination and the statuette that will be handed out at the live broadcast on June 6.

Aziz Ansari is used to making people laugh but this time, the joke's on him – well, sort of!
In a new spot to preview this year's MTV Movie Awards, which Ansari will host, stars like Zac Efron, Kristen Bell and Diddy all reveal embarrassing (and hilarious) baby photos of the Parks and Recreation star. Plus, they share the real stories behind the pictures – like that time Ansari was stuck under a television set for six years.
Maybe you just have to watch it to understand.
