Is Conor Kennedy just one of Taylor Swift's boys of summer?
The PDA-loving pair seemed attached at the hip in recent weeks, but with Swift, 22, facing a grueling work schedule, and Kennedy, 18, back to his East Coast high school, the two are being forced to live their lives apart.
On Thursday, the country singer appeared on MTV's Video Music Awards in L.A., where she performed her latest single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," live for the first time. Meanwhile, her beau was having dinner at his boarding school, Deerfield Academy, according to a source.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart both stepped out at high-profile, star-studded events on Thursday – and they were 2,500 miles apart.
When Stewart – making her first official public appearance since the cheating scandal that rocked their relationship – appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote her new movie On the Road, the crowd cheered, "Kristen, I love you!" After posing for photos in a Zuhair Murad dress with costar Garrett Hedlund, she made her way over to fans to sign autographs.
"I've loved this book since I was 14," she told reporters. She also alluded to being as excited for On the Road as she would be for any Twilight film.
Pattinson, meanwhile, appeared with Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser and other members of the Twilight cast to present a new 90-second clip of Breaking Dawn: Part 2 at the MTV Video Music Awards in downtown L.A. (You can watch the heart-pounding clip below!)

From Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal, to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's sudden split and Prince Harry's nude photos, it's been a busy summer of celebrity news – and on Thursday, when Kevin Hart hosts the MTV Video Music Awards in L.A.'s Staples Center (8 p.m. ET), there's a good chance these could get a mention.
"The beauty of me being the host is you don't know what to expect," the comedian, 32, told reporters during a press conference on Tuesday. "Nobody is off limits. I think it's my job to put the room in a place where people can relax and have a good time. And the best way to do that is to show people they can poke fun at themselves."
