Who knew Robin Thicke could twerk?
The singer joined forces with Miley Cyrus – with a special cameo from several dancers dressed as bears – at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards to perform a medley of their summer jams.
Cyrus and said bears kicked off the performance with her hit, "We Can't Stop," which she twerked through until Thicke took the Barclays Center stage in a referee costume.

From Shailene to Katy, Miley to Gaga, see who was killing it on the red carpet at MTV's biggest night

A round of applause and a standing ovation for Lady Gaga, who kicked off Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards like only a showgirl could.
Nearly two weeks after dropping "Applause" a week early, the singer took the Barclays Center stage for a jazz hands-raising rendition of her single, the first off her upcoming album, ARTPOP.
Taking a page straight out of her music video, the predictably unpredictable performer stripped off her white, face-framing costume to reveal a Fosse-worthy showgirl get-up. (But that wasn't nearly as impressive as her new favorite paint that somehow ended up on her face in perfect precision mid-dance.)

Is Katy Perry now Sweatin' to the Oldies?
If this awesomely random photo is any indication, we think the answer is yes.
Perry, 28, and perennially amped-up exercise guru Richard Simmons, 65, posed for this shot on the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards outside Brooklyn's Barclay's Center Sunday evening.

Lance Bass was seen getting coffee on Saturday in Manhattan – just one more sign that 'NSYNC is reuniting for the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
'NSYNC's breakout star, Justin Timberlake, is receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the show and his former bandmates – Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone – are expected to join him to perform a medley of their hits.
In one of the worst-kept secrets in showbiz, the guys have been refusing to confirm their reunion, with Bass declaring earlier this week on his SiriusXM radio show, "Dirty Pop with Lance Bass," that the rumor was "so cute."

New York, New York, it's a hell of a town.
And on Sunday night, it's going to be a packed one: Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and more will descend upon Brooklyn for the MTV Video Music Awards – specifically, to the house that Jay-Z built (a.k.a. Barclays Center).
If you want to get into an Empire State of Mind, check out our Spotify playlist of songs. From Jigga to Beastie Boys to Frank Sinatra, these are the tracks that'll make you feel like an honorary New Yorker. Just don't call it the Big Apple. (Seriously, no one calls it that.)

Katy Perry will be the closing act at MTV's Video Music Awards on Sunday.
The 28-year-old will perform her latest single, "Roar" for the first time on live television from an undisclosed location – away from the rest of the awards at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
Will she be joined by beau (and duet partner) John Mayer on top of the Brooklyn bridge? Or will Brooklyn native Jay-Z guide her around his hometown from the Marcy Projects to Coney Island? Will she pay tribute to Notorious B.I.G. in Bedstuy? Or will she go all GIRLS on us and channel Lena Dunham in Greenpoint?

Justin Timberlake knows a thing or two about making a good video.
"SexyBack"? Totally Sexy. "Rock Your Body"? Fun with light bulbs! "Cry Me a River"? The best eff you to an ex of all time!
But on Sunday night, when Timberlake receives the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards, it'll be his costar in a different kind of video who presents him with the honor.

It would be a reunion ten years in the making.
With rumors swirling that 'NSYNC (the boy band that propelled Justin Timberlake to super stardom) may reunite and perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, the big question is: What song will they sing?

Paws up, Little Monsters!
After a hip injury in February that derailed her Born This Way Ball Tour and confined her to a (24-karat gold-plated wheelchair), Lady Gaga is slowly making her way back into the spotlight.
The singer will take the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 25, when she'll perform the new (and still untitled) single from her upcoming fourth studio album, ARTPOP.
Gaga had taken the stage briefly for a performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" at New York's Gay Pride Parade Kickoff Rally on June 28, but the VMA performance will mark Gaga's official return.
