If the promos are any indication of Andy Samberg's hosting abilities, the Emmys are in good hands.

Hollywood is already a lot like high school, and never more so than during awards season. Competition fills the air, everyone obsesses over dresses they will wear exactly once and, as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler demonstrated at the Golden Globes, who sits with who is a matter of extreme importance.
But on a greater level, each awards show is also its own friend group, with all the little in-jokes, rituals and histories that implies. Which ceremony is which clique? On the eve of the Director's Guild of America Awards, see it all explained below.

30 Rock didn't end up winning outstanding comedy series during the Primetime Emmy Awards, but Tracy Morgan got to show off a little something that the Academy can't provide.
"I've got the gorgeous lady," Morgan, 44, told PEOPLE right before the show, of his fiancée Megan Wollover, who was right by his side. "I can't compete, I can't compete. She's looking stunning and I look like James Bond – a black James Bond – Jerome Bond. It's always good when you're on a red carpet at the Emmys. It's always good."
The funnyman, who said he was clad in "Kenneth Cole from head to toe, hollerin' at me," made it clear that he and his leading lady have no lack of bedroom activity.

Newly of age Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte is ready to live it up.
Mitte, whose AMC series just won best drama at the Emmys on Sunday, began celebrating a little early.
Popping into the HBO Luxury Lounge in Beverly Hills on Friday with his mom, Mitte sipped on Baileys Irish Cream and was heard by an onlooker saying jokingly, "Now that I'm 21, I want shots of Baileys all day long."
Even though Mitte is the famous one, his mom didn't walk away without some VIP treatment of her own. Her son scooped up a fancy pair of earrings from Pandora jewelry for her.
Congratulations to all the Emmy nominees! We are on our way....... pic.twitter.com/rIqSAWXFvg— RJ Mitte (@RjMitte) September 22, 2013

There may be one more episode left of Breaking Bad, but Anna Gunn appears to have already put Skyler White behind her.
Wearing a floor-length Romona Keveza gown, Gunn, 45, showed off a very different look when she took home the Emmy for best supporting actress on Sunday for her portrayal of a teacher-turned-meth-kingpin's wife on the AMC series.
"I was actually ill while I was filming the show and it affected my weight," Gunn told PEOPLE at the Governors Ball after the awards ceremony. "They gave me cortisone and I puffed up and gained weight. Now I'm better, thank God."

How surprised was Jeff Daniels to win his first Emmy?
"I heard my name, and I go, 'Oh, that's what it sounds like when you win,' " Daniels, who won for his lead role as the self-righteous anchor Will McAvoy on The Newsroom, told reporters at HBO's afterparty on the Plaza of the Pacific Design Center, Sunday. "You hear your name just like that. 'Well, I won!' "
Going into the ceremony, the favorite appeared to be Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, who had won for the past three years. When Daniels's name was announced instead, reported The New York Times, "There were audible gasps of 'Whoa!' and 'What?' in the auditorium."

Late into the 65th annual Emmys ceremony Sunday on CBS, host Neil Patrick Harris announced: "No one in America is winning their Emmy office pool."
If you did happen to win, you should consider a career in statistical forecasting. The awards were all over the place.
Of the night's many surprises, the biggest was in the category of best actor. Academy voters for once decided not to give the prize to Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston – but instead of rewarding Mad Men's Jon Hamm, the perennial also-ran, they chose Jeff Daniels of HBO's The Newsroom. Perhaps they concluded that Hamm is already lousy with nominations, and handsome as the devil, and that should hold him. Daniels is a fine actor, as you'll discover if you catch just about any of his many performances of the past three decades, but The Newsroom's first season was a pounding surf of angry, righteous yammering. Oh well.
Here's what else the Emmys got right and wrong:
